actually there is a place saying you cant do that in the law, you can do an engine replacment from the same series car (ie: a 1.5l CE upgrades to a 1.8L ce engine) thats it...

too many people these days that just got on their P's say "but its illegal to mod my engine"

if you were smart about it there is a bucket load of mods that if done with a bit of a brain would fly right under the radar

extractors- put an exhaust heat shield over it and cops wont be able to tell the difference
adjustable camgear- its already hidden inside a black cover its stealth enuf
intake - K&N pannel filter at the very least... u could also get a matte black box and put a pod in it if you were keen on some diy
LW underdrive pully- ... the cop will never see it, and even then wont be able to tell its a mod, just chuck some black paint on it
rear swaybar- they are never going to tell it didnt come stock
genuine mitsubishi strutbraces - just say they came standard with the car

lightened flywheels, shaved pistons, yea ive thought of it, but dont wanna go and spend money on upgrades when im just gonna go and change the engine, the engine change just came earlier than expected

however me realising you guys all know more than I do, what you recommend I do, excluding budget, aiming for legal and most power (up to 200kw)
 
lol... 200kws is a bit much for you buddy

i'd be aiming for
100-120kw naturally aspirated as your goal
or
150kw for turbo setup
and if you get to that figure then think about an AWD conversion

150kw is ALOT

school: shaving pistons reduces compression .: less power NA
 
What res said, not much more you could do beside upgrade TB, cold air intake, hi-flow muffler/cat, rear strut, internal struts, anti lift kits, High comp pistons, bored head, larger plenum, weight reduction, wide tyres, lower (helps handling), new shocks, coils (illegal though)...

and fyi, I'm planning on going turbo and 200kw is my goal for my engine, 150kw I would be laughin.

200kw is max P-platers can have, wasnt saying i wanted 200kw, and dude, ive driven and handled a SR20DET s14, the way i wanted it to, it put out 312kw, i can drive with power, obviously not in a FWD, power isnt my problem lols

sooo say a 4g93, CAI? pretty sure my muffler is already high flow, sitting on superlow kingsprings, trying to find a good strut or shocky brand to replace the stock ones, planning to get an anti lift kit

and DR1FT, it will eventually (2-3 years before I sell it) be AWD, and i refuse to step foot in commys
 
My first car was a vr wags with mild internals and a manual geabox, LSD and ss brakes. Went harder then my lancer

It really does. I know my mod list for the lancer wasn't impractial in my head when I got it lol
