TEIN and Pedders Coilovers are the only two brands that have achieved ADR compliance for their coilovers. If you want to get into the nitty gritty, your suspension must retain 2/3rds of the original shocker travel distance as well, so bye-bye any stiffer suspension. (not only must shocker travel be retained, its technically non-ADR compliant if the coilover allows the car to be lowered below 100mm).
Insurance companies can only knock you back if the cause of an accident was due to a Non-ADR compliant modification, which in this case, most coilovers are. For this to happen, you would need to have a crash/accident/whatever, that the coilovers directly caused.
