Just replace the bolt with rivets, run a bead of clear silicon along all the permanent joins in your box, and put some U section rubber around the top to make sure it seals nicely!.

Eh, too hard. She'll be right for the moment. It's blocking out most of the hot air anyway.

Yeah I will, just not today/this week.
It's not like anyone I know will want to look at it

Yo guys I did what you said, looks a lot better now! Cheers for the help.

still could be sealed better, but its a decent diy job, better than most would do, kudos

Yeah I still have a hell of a lot of the clear PVC, I'm thinking of doing it again but not cutting it all out with a hacksaw this time. Maybe then it'll be straighter.

OK so Im a total noob when it comes to modding cars apart from wheels etc.

So tell me why its illegal to have an open Pod?

I was going to do this to my Mirage, Some really great ideas with the pipe running down to the fog light area. Might have to get some pipe work done.

there isnt really a good reason "why" it just is illegal, it needs to be covered and secured to the chassis so it doesnt move. thats the bottom line, do that cops cant say sheet

No idea, because cops are poor and it's an easy yellow sticker?

the fact you made that comment just shows you fit into the "im a pod filta racer broooo" stereotype

Open Pods are illegal because they can make the intake noise too loud, same reason its illegal to have a loud exhaust.

They are also illegal because when the engine is not running, residue hydro carbons in the intake manifold etc, can easily escape through a open pod as they are highly volatile. An enclosed air filter helps stop this until the engine has started again.

Thanks for the quick response..
I can understand the loud thing, but what annoys me. There is a guy that lives down the street, he has a Harley.... Its so loud it makes the windows shake.... But will he get pulled for it? Probably not as its a bike..

police avoid bikies, how often do you actually see a harley/bikie pulled over, if ever.. The gangs and retaliation isnt worth giving a $200~ fine

Not saying its not loud, but theres a difference between loudness and pitch and windows shaking. When you turn your music up in your hectic sound system, you feel the car shake no?? This is due to the subwoofer, as it outputs low frequencys, the sound harleys make is also in the lower pitch range, and so it will also shake the windows/car etc.

But where is most of the noise actually coming from in your stereo, most of the actual loud noise is coming from your tweeters or midranges or what have you, as they output higher frequencies. Which is more typical of your car sports exhaust etc.

I dont want to be the arguer, who is against modding etc. But i feel that the majority of modders etc need to think about things before they start jumping on the "that law is stupid" bandwagon. LOL

HAHAHAH So so true.....

But i feel that the majority of modders etc need to think about things before they start jumping on the "that law is stupid" bandwagon.
Another true statement. Yes I think there is some silly laws, but I do think SOME laws are in place to protect us etc

So I got sick of the pod, and realised I was a bit of a wanker. Now I've got a K&N panel filter, it definitely feels better than the pod.

 placebo
filters are filters

air intake temps are where its at

I wouldn't touch it, looks gimmicky to me. If you want to use a pod pay a bit extra for a nice complete setup.
