Good price for exhaust?

Hey guys, I just drove up to Thomastown Mufflers to see how much they'd give me a whole catback + cannon set.
I got quoted at $350 with installation.

Being a noob to all things car, is this a good price?

Or should I just get a cannon installed without the catback? (Probably a nooby question  )

Oh and if anyone knows of any places that do decent priced exhaust kits and installations around Melbourne, let me know :D

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Edit: Not looking for anything flashy or brand name btw, just something with a nice rumble!

350 is the standard price for your average catback, you could have searched the forum for this, its been said a billion times

Yeh thats about right, i would personally steer clear of a cannon and get a sports muffler sound 10x's better then a cheap tinny cannon!

lol, stainless = win for looks, mild steel for practicality, personally for muffler i would go stainless, and for the pipes go mildsteel

Bump!

Any good places in Melbourne that do Catback systems for a good price?
Otherwise I might just go for the $350 one...

just search this forum the "any good exhaust places in Melbourne" has been asked before im sure.

stainless sounds dfferent too. more raspy and resonatng

Correct, unless you buy something heavy-weight, which then sounds no different to the mild steel.

I have stainless for practicality, others on here buy mild steel, because money is tight and stainless does cost about treble the price...

go mild steel, stainless should only belong in the kitchen

Or new Lancers....

But back to the OP, seriously don't get a cannon, they drone and are quite frankly crap (you'll probably end up losing low-mid torque aswell) instead get a decent Lukey or Magnaflow muffler and mild steel piping from the cat back.

So sick of just seeing the whole lancer + p plates + cannon only set up's around my area.

Something subtle not too over the top would be good. Sports exhaust or twin tip? :)

quoted this out of maddisons old thread

had mine done by them from cat-back(2") with a redback muffler. Sounds great to me and no drone on the freeway :). was 260 with a small round tip or 290 with the oval one i chose
