Fuel is good, done it on few differant batches of std unleaded, and 98 and E10ABrouwer said:Yeah doesn't sound great, not that its should not be an issue here but it sounds the same as when I get pre-det. Maybe a bad batch of fuel?
I've had alot of different tapping from this motor recently.
Chunk of metal in the cyl.
Loose fly wheel
Exhaust leak @ the manifold
Wrong valve clearance
Pinging from low octane fuel (anything under 98)
Exhaust hanger on chassis
Yeah tapping is my worst nightmare
Checked for inlet leaks with carby clean and revs stay consistant= no leak
Valve clearance is now perfect after yesterday
Hope it's stupid like exhaust hanger
Please don't say flywheel, I hate removing fwd boxes. I can do a complete clutch change in the silvia b4 I can even get the box out on a maccas tray skid car (puts on flame suit) lol
Doubt metal in cyl as would be consistant and by now would have knocked the tip off the plug or got stuck in the exhaust valve.
Prick of a thing it is.
Just looked again b4 and it appears to be coming from the firewall side, was wrong bout being exhaust side.
