DIY ce lancer blue dash lights

omg, i now realised that the HID bulbs i recieved by post will actually fit. i just didnt install properly cause i thought the whole unit gets replaced rather than just the bulb

hid bulbs in your cluster.... wtf, blind yourself while u drive :p

Just installed a new headunit which has a vibrant blue neon scheme. This looks pretty dodgy next to the stock dull green/yellow, so I now want to change the other dash lights. I've had a look through the thread and from the pictures it seems like putting in other coloured LEDs wash out everything. Eg. the blue/red circles for the air-con temperature and the speedo/tacho needles/hi rpm range.

So, is there a way to retain the detailed coloured bits without putting in white LEDs? I want to achieve something like this where the high RPM range is retained red, but the rest is blue.

I'd put white in but I have a feeling it wouldn't look that great with the headunit LEDs being blue.

If they have a segmented area for lighting, then just use red in that quadrant.. if not, you will have to use cellulose film (coloured) to achieve the different coloured area. Also, they would probably be T10 (W5W) bulbs shown... probably too big.

I just saw the other DIY where colour paper was used and the results were pretty awesome. Seeing as my needles are already orange/red, I could probably just use a red LED to enhance them but only if it is segmented like you said?

Tricky bit would be the RPM range but maybe two pieces of different coloured paper put together could work for that.

With the bulbs, I've read that you need T5 and T10 to do everything? Been looking on eBay and there's sets of 5 for about $15. Just need to work out what colours I need and what paper to mix it with to get what I want.

ive dont mine dash with red led's but its heaps dull can anyone tell me well link me to some maddd bright ones please , thanks lads

search ebay for 2-3watt red leds, will look like this

they dont make them in red apparently, only white

next best bet is a 6chip t10 wedge

this is exactly what i want! has any one managed to do this? if so what bulbs are you all using? i want the best outcome possible!

Just finished doing it all myself but the air con dials are very patchy though. And I have wide glow globes any advice?

get a better wide angle globe.

the general stuff you will find at first glance on ebay is crap, have a deper delve for some better stuff
