DIY ce lancer blue dash lights

ok have busted through the section, but didnt see an answer, how many bulbs do you need just for behind the A/C, clock, and lighter? and are these ones t5?
 
Their all t5's. 1 for the cig lighter, 1 for the clock (you want a wide angle one or you can end up with bright and dark spots), and 2 behind the a/c although its difficult to get the oem bulbs out for the first time.
 
I would recommend using the wide angle bulbs like the ones ascottgill recommended.

I got hongkong cheapies for the T5s and i ended up with 2 different kinds of blue. One was dark almost violet blue and another was kinda like skyblue. My A/C dash and my speedo dash lights are different but i'm kinda satisfied with the two different colours. LOL

There's also one in the ash tray. So 5 all up. No matter what colour scheme you're doing, white in the clock looks the nicest.
 
So I had a random day and decided to go tinkering with this idea swapped my cluster globes with red LEDs and there's a couple of duller spots than with the white ones. Anyway to combat this ??? My T10's had 4 smaller LEDs to make one light.
 
did u do the 1x T5 bulb aswell? that could craeat a large dull spot

otherwise buy some SMD bulbs or higher wattage/lumen bulbs
or check that all the bulbs are working, as it could be as simple as 1 bulb not in the right way
 
Yeah I am fairly certain there all working I'll grab a photo tonight if I remember. I did the T5 as well but yeah they're all really bright in one area.
 
So you're certain the polarity is correct for each bulb then? The only way to tell is if there's dull spots. Switch them around if you haven't tried..
 
Polarity ??? I just bought a bunch of LED's :p I know that the bulbs I replaced had two lots of wire as opposed to the ones I put in which had one piece
 
Google it! LED's only work one way. So if you plug it in and it doesnt work, switch it around and it should work. Have you tried that?
 
Ah thats a bummer. Maybe you'll just have to go back to white later, cuz white's the best!
 
All the dull spots seem to be around the T5 bulb so I might try and see if I can get another type or something but yeah maybe.

I recently just bought a ce with red led's throughout the dash and converted them to white ones.. But I'm not terribly impressed.. Running inverted cone t10's and smd t5 the cluster is a bit off.. I tried turning them around and after about half an hour of test fitting it's the best I can get it. The whole cluster is evenly lit, however it's kinda dull an there's this massive bright spot between 40-120km/h that off puts the whole cluster...

Any suggestions? Almost ready to go back to standard globes to keep the dimmer switch and an even light output.....

Maybe try the SMD T10's. They should be better than that inverted cone type. I've got that type for T5's and the 5 SMD T10's, pretty evenly lit for me.
 
ok so im confused as *poo* on ebay on whats good and whats not.

Im going to do my whole dash so i should use SMD t10s for my dash?

someone with some ebay links of good quality white bulbs for the cluster and dash would be amazing!
