So ive got some new rims, and i want some stretched tyres.

16x8 is my rim size, and im tossing up between 195 40 R16 // 195 45 R16 in tyre sizes.

which would be more appropriate for enough stretch, but not too much for it to be unsafe?

can people in the know please tell me if i would be chasing the right tyre as above for stretch?

here are some examples:

195 40 R16

Either this, or ill be going for 215 45 R16 kumho ku36's which will look beefy as!

id go the 195/40. also keep in mind, different tyres look more stretched then others due to their quality and sidewall designs.

would you fit 215 ku36's on? hav you tested the wheels with no tyres?

nah i havent test fitted yet, ill have to do that soon though to see how much clearance i have.

i need to get my hands on a 4 point wheel brace, with one hand a normal lever wheel brace isnt gonna be any good to me at the moment.

the nuts on my stockies look like they havent been taken off in years.

i have 16x8+20 rims, running 205(or 215 i forget)/45/16 in Maxxis Mav-1.
They're a fairly beefy tyre/size. The stretch is safe (it has slight stretch, its definitely not extreme), and the local authorities havnt said anything in terms of roadworthyness etc.
Also keep in mind you'll need to keep your rolling diameter for your speedo to work corrwectly; check online tyre calculaters for rolling diameter changes with new rim sizes or tyres.

yeah im aware of rolling diameter as ive had rims on other cars before, but i need to know if a 215 tyre would fit my cc.

could you check your tires and see if they are 205 or 215 for me dude?

if you go slightly smaller (which will happen with the stretch) you speedo will read faster, so its a good way to avoid getting speeding tickets.

speedo reads 60, yet you're only doing 57. winning

look better, and dont speed, 215/40 FTW! Na i have no clue, dont listen to me. Im only saying that because im happy with how mine look haha

to be honest, totally different kettle of fish. 16 v 17s. stretch verse conventional fitment. no where near the same

what about federal 595 rs?
they come in 205 46 R16.. look nice too.

whats better out of federal and kumho?

i was told they're similar. federals being slightly noiser and harder.

do the test fit first obviously before you decide on what tyres you want/need

ok will do then ill put some pics up so you can help me figure it out :)

apparently t1rs are good for stretch

Why bother getting ku36s, waste of money

What offset are they? unless they are flush it will look stupid

Havent we already covered all this in another thread?

offset is 20

what do you recommend?

ohhh 20.. should look good mate :p was just thinking of the typical herrasunk lancer stance

paul i mean why waste money on performance tyres on a stock lancer that is only going to drive on the road.. Im trying out ku36s on the nissan because im too broke to afford the RSRs in that size

lol nah no sunken wheels here, im trying for some kind of stance, whether i achieve that or not.. well i hope so lol.

so roy do you recommend the toyo or federal tyres mentioned earlier?
