Post about your stereo or ask questions regarding your current or future desired setups.

My first question, if anyone has any experience with them, what are tube subs like? I want some bass but I don't want to lose my boot.... thinking a bazooka tube sub might be the go, one unit, just wire it in.... that said, I am pretty sure i'll have to upgrade the head unit before I do this as I still have the stock unit.
 
Just get one of those ute subs that mount behind the seat, they're a small unit and sit right up against the seat in the black zone of the boot you don't use ;)

I'm getting the inspiration for my next setup from the r33 boot ;)
 
For bragging purposes:

HeadUnit: Alpine, I don't know the model number, but a couple guys on here have it as well.
Front Speakers: Pioneer something, about 140w peak I think.
Rear Speakers: Sony something, about 180w peak I think.
Amp/s: 1x AudioLine 800w peak Mono-block amp.
Sub/s: 1x 10" 300w peak Kicker Comp Sub.
Misc: Stock deadening, stock wiring, blue-tooth handsfree module.
 
Clarion headunit
Front Speakers: Sony Components 65 Watt rms 260 Watt peak.
Rear Speakers: Sony 4-Way 6" 75 Watt rms 300 Watt peak
Pioneer 12" Sub 280 Watt rms 1300 Watt peak powered by 400W Pioneer Amplifier

Wanting to upgrade sub to twin subs with more powerful amp and amplify speakers for cleaner sound :D
 
My "small" system

Bass: 2 * 300rms Fusion 12inch subs
Amps: Fusion 4ch amp bridged 2*200rms (fronts)

240v PSU to run the system from the wall

Front speakers: JBL 6" splits - 280w peak
rear speakers: Pioneer 6" 2 way's (unsure of Wattage)
Amp: Marriola 4 channel (2 channels to front speakers, 2 channels to sub).
Sub: 12" Kenwood 350w rms 1500w peak with sealed box.
 
Head unit: Bottom of the line *poo* box Sony - you know the ones you get on special at Autobarn for $80? One of those pieces of *poo*. Thanks previous owner!
Front Speakers: Rockford Fosgate Punch series 6.5" components that I had lying around doing nothing
Rear: None
Subs: None
Amps: None
Sound Quality: Woefull

Not really into sound systems any more, have spent more than my fair share on them in the past though. Still love seeing a well done install, but just getting too old for doof doof now lol. I don't like loud noises anymore. Get off my front porch.

This would have to be about the most simple install I have had and yet still remaining high quality. only exception was my very first setup running a standard pair of coax's off the H/U for about a week lol

Subwoofers: 2 12 inch Audio Element AEX dual 2 ohm (1800rms each)
Bass amp: Soundstream DTR1.3400d tower amp, 3400rms at 0.5 ohm
Electrical system: Stock 110amp alternator ( soon to be 270amp mechman), 600cca 55ah front battery, 1000cca 150ah rear battery (soon to be 400+ah battery bank)
Cabling: Dual runs 0ga OFC from front battery to rear battery, big three upgrade, dual 0ga runs from battery to bass amp, 4ga power and ground from front battery to mids and highs amp, 16ga speaker wire (mids and highs), 8ga speaker wire (subs), Audio element RCA's throughout.
Sub enclosure: 5 cubic feet tuned to 34hz, blowthrough design (subs facing in cabin fully sealed off from the boot), fully carpeted, and rounded port edges for minimal port noise.
Various bits and pieces: Fully trimmed boot install with carpeted trim panels with raised mitsubishi emblem, im car bass knob, volt meter mounted in dash, expanda-foam to seal off sub box from boot, small amount of dynamat in boot to stop and rattling if there is any, dynamatted front doors and rear deck.

This is all in progress as we speak, should be fully completed very soon :)

Goes alright after i tuned it imo, defs not the best but better then most P platers Hektic 2 12in sub spastic systems.. need to clean it up and dynamat the doors tho.

Cheers, It's all good, your entitled to your own opinion.

I know i need to change the amps but its more of a when i get time/ can be f***ed kinda thing.

But it doesn't matter coz john's probably pulling 150's with that setup
