rev matching

I use engine braking all the time. Aswell as brakes. Who cares lol
+1 to that.
I have no chance of heel toe ,wear a size 12 DC its hard enough to fit two of them in a mirage foot well let alone trying to crip walk down there as well.

possible but difficult to master, get a vid of it skippy. never been game to try

clutchless up (and down shifting) is possible, i do it when im bored and NOT IN TRAFFIC. needs no load and perfect rev matching. easiest way to do it is pop it out of gear, into neutral, adjust the revs to match the gear youll be selecting, put some pressure on the shifter and itll pop into the next gear when the revs are right. slow and smooth when learning and it shouldnt grind

when i come up to a set of lights ill usually just throw it in neutral and coast it to a stop using brakes only, but rev matching round corners etc just makes day to day driving more enjoyable cause im always hanging out for that perfect downshift (heel and toe) :D

Been learning how to heel-toe-rev-match, so hard to notice if i'm doing it right... cause not sure if syncro is doing the work or i'm actually doing it right. I mainly do it for round about or give way signs... I was just wondering do you brake while doing the rev matching or is it. Brake, once ur finish braking, use heel to rev while clutching out?

the way i do it is, basically say you're coming up to a corner in 4th gear at 60-65km, you wanna drop it down to 3rd maybe 2nd. what i do is start braking lightly, push in the clutch throw it into 3rd now while releasing the clutch ill blip the throttle with my heel while my toe is still lightly braking. usually only heel toe for corners and roundabouts. its hard at first to master, but once you start doing it daily it sort of becomes second nature

So you drop 60-65 from 4th to 2nd by rev matching immediately or you let the rpms drop a little on 4th gear before doing the rev match?

doesn't matter, you just have to rev harder to match the gear you're putting it into

Ahh okay, cheers. So really rev matching in modern day is just to put less wear and tear on the clutch, unless you can do it perfectly all the time haha

Its pointless imo unless you driving hard ie tracking it or mountain runs .

Just fun you know, preparing yourself for round abouts, or those windy things meant to "slow you down". In general just much better brag factor of how well you can drive stick =P

ultimately yeh for the street its pretty pointless cause you're not looking for best corner entry speeds like you are on the track, but its still good fun :D
