How low are Lows and Super Lows

modern cars don't sit flat OEM, my CJ is a combo of super-low rears and low fronts, to make it sit dead-flat.

I don't like the jacked-up rear look.. great if you want to carry peeps or tow, though...

I lowered just the front more for test purposes and not spending much money as i wanted to see if i could adapt to the harshness of ride that lowered springs provide, im glad i've only lowered the front as shorter springs suck

What's a standard price for a decent set of all 4 shocks? Ive seen people adviertise You can get them from eBay Malaysia?

I bought OEM CJ VRX shocks, delivered from Sydney, for under $400... so you can get good quality shocks here, without running offshore..

Good luck with yours.

cheers man, ill probably be looking into getting shocks at the same time as i get springs, so its good to know it wont be too costly

surely most will endorse coilovers, which are superior, but you will get a decent set of coils and good shocks, for about $750. If you fit them yourself, you still have big change from coilover price, still with decent handling.

Good luck, no matter which way you go.

Hey bro. I have cc front and rear shocks and lowered springs. Rears are orders. Fronts are kings. Might even have rear kings as well.

Otherwise also have a full set of cb shocks and kingsprings

Eitherways 4shocks and 4springs for $150

Cheers for the offer Gianni, but am looking into buying new ones.

Thanks for the advice Tryg, i am probably going to go shocks and springs and install them myself :D are they very difficult to change, just a few bolts and the towers come out?

Two on top. Then two onto your hubs for front. Rears is two on too and one through control arm. Very simple job. Takes me 15 mins to change all 4. Half an hour if I need to swap the springs

thought so, pretty simple job.... my main worry is that i wont be able to put them back in, haha, nah, it sound fairly straight forward.

you'll need spring compressors.. borrow them off someone..

the rest is fairly straightforward. I would suggest using a torque wrench to do up the nuts to correct factory torque..

other than that, easily done.

Get a wheel alignment after.

Good luck and show us all pics after!

Spring compressors you can buy for 45$ on eBay. Getting shocks in and out is easy, just make sure both sides of car are up or the sway bar will hold the hub up too high to get it back in. Springs are easy with the compressor. Just be carefully they are on properly. If they flick off it will be deadly :s

disconnect the sway.. then re-jack the sway = just another method

yes.. spring compressors are a must for getting the spring off, read post above!!

but, you probably wont need them for putting new super-lows on... they're just not needed!
