How low are Lows and Super Lows

Hey everyone,

Just looking into some springs. Im just wondering how low SUper Low springs would be and if they are too low to put a lip kit on and still be on the 10cm legal height. Would I be better of going for lows or would super lows be fine. :? :? :? :? :?

Id like it to be as low as possible with out coilovers (maybe look into them later on, dont have the budget to justify them) just to make it look a bit lower and sportier and still be able to put a kit on. I was wondering if anyone had some examples of what they might look like?

Cheers,

Tom.

i have super lows on my fronts i will take a photo for you now man and you can see how low they are :) Should be fine tho there not that low lol

I have pic in my thread of my superlows page 6. It has a lip kit and the front lip is pretty much bang on 100mm on the sides just in front of the wheels. get superlows imo

My car is on lows all around, slightly tucks at the rear with me in it and the front sits maybe a little too high for my liking but have never had any problems scraping. Look at my ride thread for the height

Lows = 30mm drop, superlows = 50-60mm drop. Quoted

So thats is 50-60mm lower than it was? ok, ill probably go super lows, just dont want the car scraping everywhere with the bodykit.

Jazza, it seems like yours is legal height and you have the same kit as the one i am after

Super lows are the way to go, as for needing new shocks its a bit 50/50, you should really get new shocks if your going super lows but the stock ones will do but may start leaking

Ive got just superlows in the front, on 17's the guards sat just on top of the tyres, check my ride thread first page.
Now that i have 15's the gap is slightly bigger, my recommendation is get lows all round so the ride isn't so harsh and dont kill your shocks as quick, better yet get coilovers (height adjustment and damper adjustment for harsh or smooth driving)

Im after some wheel tuck at the back and the front to be low but still high enough that i can steer easily. There is a lancer at school that has springs and it is really quite low, im guessing it has super lows?!? it is around the same height as the Silvias parked in the school parks.

Well seeing that you have 15's you wont get a wheel tuck with superlows im sure unless you have a few big mates in the back at all times, there are also ultra low king springs available that give a further 15-20mm drop from superlows but you have to check if they sell them for cc lancers.

Im really just looking for my next car if I get a CE. That is how eager I am!! haha. Im thinking of going for some 16 or 17 inch wheels.

Topgunjames, i was looking at King Springs catalogue and the ce springs share the same codes as the cc ones, so same springs im pretty sure.

yeh they would, sorry i should have said for lancers in general, not sure if they supply ultra lows for the lancers, check the king springs catalogue

yeah, ill go super lows probably :D

Also, can anyone tell me what colour the stock springs are? Mine are like this shiny black colour, they probably are stock but just curious if they might me lows or something....

I've bought king superlows off archm (the seller) before, they're genuine. I doubt anyone would go to the bother of ripping off king springs brand.
