Front and rear stock speaker sizes?

Also you may find that 6x9" on the rear parcel shelf make a bad rattle. I ended up disconnecting then on my Lancer and I may just end up with the front plus a sub on my FTO.

was writing down my thoughts in my head without really explaining it... good job me

if your not planning on spending $$$ and you want bass then.. yes get 6.5 cause they have an even surface area and cheap 6x9 will break easy

and YES if you planning on spend $$$$ the get 6x9 and u will have good bass..

should have finished my post properly

Up to 100 on 6-6.5in should be good enough. good 6x9 would be the diff between just loud/bassy and maintaining good mid to high while having bass. That and how well you seal the doors and how well the 6x9's do in an open space like the boot.
I have the previous version to these http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps- ... sku-73300/ GOOD AS FK but i need to mount them properly. My 6in are just some $80 dollar sony speakers haha. seem to be ok atm.

Lol that still makes absolutely zero sense to me.. What are you trying to say? If you want bass get 6.5" and cheap 6x9's with no sub? Or don't get cheap 6x9's coz they break and get a sub? Or just 6.5" with no sub?

6x9's make bass. 6.5" does not. If you get 6x9's you don't need a sub. If you get normal 6-6.5" speakers you do need a sub. End..!

Lots of stupid in this thread

Stock speakers in a CE:

Fronts : 5.25 inch
Rears: 6.75 inch

Yes I am serious

I have fit 6.5" speakers in both spots.
If you get them seated solid, they will make good bass, provided they are decent speakers.
Look at the frequency range they are quoted to output on the spec sheet. anything that goes lower than 40Hz will have pretty sweet bass. Although nothing like a sub.

If you don't want a loud system, you don't need to amp the door speakers. They will sound fine running off the headunit. But trust me when I say you will want to turn your speakers up more when they sound good.

Turning up speakers that are running off the headunit too much can start to damage them. You get close to the limit of the output of the headunit, and this is where you start to damage speakers - not enough power. Adding an amp fixes this. Sort of counterintuitive, but it makes sense once you get it.

Btw, my system was extremely cheap and I am really happy with the sound of it. I bought a refurbished Pioneer headunit off ebay, Polk Audio db651's for the front, some type of pioneer 6.5"s for the back, and an alpine type s sub with an alpine amp that is something like 300w. If you don't want loud, it's awesome.
