engine performance

In my opinion, don't bother with performance for a Lancer unless you're willing to spend big money; (i.e. Mel, Sam, etc.)

These little +2kw mods are what Mel described to be as the Placebo Effect - they only feel like they've added +2kw because you've got that idea in your head.

its not the point the k&n gives it better air flow and gives the engine a more free sound when u give it a rev.
ok, last rant. i promise.

i honestly doubt that. if i lined up a mixture of 10 lancer engines with and without k&n filters, i doubt you (and most people) would be able to:

1. distinguish the sound between the two.
2. distinguish the air flow between the two.
3. distinguish the power between the two.

but hey, modding's modding. better that you guys give it a go and enjoy for yourselves.

i bought an intake myself, which arrived this week..

I wouldnt bother with a stock 1.8. Price Vs kms prob works out the same anyway.

Best advice yet.

Forget performance unless you have lots of $$$$$.

2-300$ will get you nowhere fast.

Lol.. It'd buy you 30min of happiness on the golden mile
and some aids on the side

still better value for money then doing an an na lancer...

and yeah syk misread your post thought you said you got tuned on one and just did back to back runs on other fuel. my apologies

link is broken cos u didnt do the [img/] stuff

if you have the stock airbox then an intake with less restriction is good, which can be achieved for <$30 and an hour or 2 labour
*take of resonators, and pipe a flexy pipe down to the grill, $30 CAI easy, works a treat for budget setup and will net you some nice gains on a cold night, and keep ur performance normal on a hot day

but strutbraces are good too...

I guess for 50 bucks i might give it a try! Did you change the pipe from the engine to the sensor?

different engine bro, i dont have the sensor
you can if you want to, and if u can put a pipe there with less bends is better
so long as ur intakee is gointo only get fres a from outside the engne bay its a good one
