i find it interesting but after hearing about the resonator i think ill keep it and just work the cai pipping around it to the fog light holes

lol u have to remove the lower resonators to pipe it properly anyways

Sorry drakos, I don't want this to sound harsh but I call bullsh!t on that. Someone once went on and on to me about how good their oil was, with all sorts of claims of extra kws. So I decided to give it a go. Now, this was straight after a dyno tune on my first turbo conversion. My car had fresh cheap $20 repco oil in it with $10 worth of treatment. We dropped the oil, put in the $140 worth of this "special" oil in. Then we put it on the dyno and... Nothing. Not even an extra half a kw.

Take my example how you will, your mileage may vary. Now the are other things that good oil does and I'm not challenging things like it's protective properties, but claims of more power, in my case, was quite bs.

well im going by what ive fealt in my car - ive had nulon fully synthetic oil in the car, beuaitful to drive the car, i went back to regular oil, meh it was noticable that it didnt rev up as quick, especially when cold....i also have gone with the nulon oil and put oil thickener in it to try to stop a oil leak, definately fealt the difference and was completely noticable when driving the car the day after the treatment was in the car - so u can say its bullshit - but what i fealt in the car definately was noticable

lol ok well still remove the lower one then but keep top one

cant argue with dyno prints but coild the differance you feel be a mind thing??

There was a thing on speedweek a month or so back about nulon oil and the slight improvements.
Although talking race cars, and frequent all changes and the fact that its sponsered by nulon.

Think I might do something like this setup thanks for the pic. Just gotta make uo a battery plate for over the engine mount or buy one.

does it do anything? mint knocks like a mofucker if i use caltex or anything.. only bp ultimate and people tell me i can use shell vpower or whatever that one is

Tried all the three main ones and I found I got the worst fuel economy on Caltex Vortex 98 and seemed to not run aswell compared to Shell V-Power. BP Ultimate I find to be slightly better than V-Power but in my case not worth the extra amount places around here try to charge for it and the fact their servos are in places less convenient to me.

lol... i could go on another rant about the fuel wars people have over the years with claims of more power with brand x over brand y. dyno'd/tuned my first turbo set up on synergy, ultimate and vpower (optimax at the time).. surprise surprise - they were all the same.

i use bp ultimate myself. but to be honest, it's only because i have a bp mastercard that gives me 5% off petrol. otherwise, i'd probably be saving all those coles vouchers. hahaha.

having said that, i did work at bp for a while and they are very passionate about the development of their fuel. at the time they were the only ones that actually had test results to back their claims. interesting read: http://www.bp.com/genericsection.do?cat ... Id=7028867

ofcause they will be the same because its the same tune.. but which one will hold more boost / cp ratio..

when do we get more e85 stations? bring on 14:1 cp ratio! lol

Yea thanks for the lesson. But read my post again. I had the lancer dyno'd/tuned on the three different fuels.

great advice. right. so after research i decided on a short ram intake 4 my car. but when i went 2 autobarn and talked to the guy he said dat k&n dont hav any short ram intake kit 4 my 2000 lancer. after talking , he recommended a k&n panel filter which would need 2 be ordered in and would cost $180 [is this overpriced???? rip off??]. then i went 2 my mate at super cheap autos and asked him abt short ram intake 4 my car and he said dat k&n dont hav any short ram intake kit 4 my 2000 lancer. regarding the cone air filter, he said dat needs 2 be fully engineered or sumthin' [like with a covering for da cone filter, heat shield etc....].
continuing on..
then i went to different mechanics who said they dont do this sort of mods. one guy recommended some hemming engineering or sumthin near blacktown. another guy gave me a card 4 some mod mechanics which i hav yet 2 check out...
not going well...
any suggestions?

$180 is a rip off. I'll try find a part number later and see if the place I get my K&N gear from in the US works out cheaper...
