Custom iPhone dock/AUX input

Yeah I don't think I've ever put a DVD in there hey. I think one CD found it's way in there which is still in there probably.

yeah, agreed. My DVD still is unused. I have a half-terrabyte 2.5" HDD that has .avi/DivX films and buckets of MP3s... I have a 32Gb thumb drive for special occasions and 32Gb SD cards for other stuff etc...

I find that DVD, even 9Gb dual-layer is a bit small, these days.
 
been working non-stop for two years now... maybe I am just lucky with it.. because I realise they can be an issue normally.

and if u can find a good place to mount and secure the usb port it is a pretty cool interior mod
neatness is the key to that one though
 
can you not use the 12v socket with a plug-in adapter?! Or is this just for coolness factor?

plus this way you can potentially have both or as many usb ports u want
would also be a good mounting method for HU's that have a USB port at the back
that way u can put the HU's usb port anywhere thats more convienient and neater to use if u change usb's or hard drives at all
 
yes, my HU USB port is in the glovebox, as well as the HDD connector. I also have 12v Meritt plug in the boot, for a freezer. I have my normal 12v socket/cigar lighter for air-freshener duties and a bank of 3 extra 12v sockets and 1 USB (5vdc) splitter box in the glovebox also.

I thought it best not to mount it anywhere visible, because it's not to everyone's tastes, if you sell your car...
 
My 2010 pioneer dvd HU has the usb slot on the front and i just plug the white usb cable straight in from my iphone no special cables, also tested it on a 2008 pioneer hu, complete control. imagine it would be the same as ipods.

Imagine it would look alittle crap running the cable out then back under like yours, looks good tho.
