Brake Upgrade

Hi all and sorry to rehash old threads and all but here is my question.

I want to do a rear brake upgrade on my CE Lancer..

A wreckers has a CH rear disc brake setup.. its a 4 stud pattern and I'm inquiring as to if its a 100PCB not 114.3..

Will the trailing arms be the same as those required or not ??

Any other issues known as it comes complete..

Thanks

CH -> CE upgrade is relatively unknown. To start with, what year model is the CH, and also is it ES, LS or VRX? Depending on model it could be 4x100 or 4x114.3. Although the biggest issue isn't going to be your PCD, whether or not your trailing arm will bolt up will be the major issue. You need to do some measuring to see if it's going to match.

Although, why not keep your eye out for a proton with rear brakes? That is the known conversion to 100% bolt up. If you're set on the CH, you're gonna have to do the research work and try it.

Cheers for the info BI65ND....

Am waiting for the wrecker to get back to me.. I was aware about 100 and 114.3 PCD but unsure about the trailing arm..

Hopefully the wrecker will know..

I've never seen advertised a Proton ass'y..

cheers for now - I will advise when I know..

CH with rear disks are 4x114... as far as bolting on goes, I wouldn't know, I know that non-mivec front brakes are equivilent to a GSR upgrade (single pot 256mm upgrade).

5 stud is extra rotational mass - its also more old school jdm. 4 stud 4 life yo
5 stud gives better options for wheels and brake clerance. better wheels get better chicks so im told

LOL 5 stud doesnt give better brake clearance. It just gives an extra stud.
better option of wheels that provide clearance

unless your doing burnouts constantly 5 stud ain't all that, and theres still nice wheels available in 4 stud to clear brakes

got a question that isnt about girls and studs...

ive been interested in doing this conversion since i got my lancer bout 4 months ago...

do you need to get an engineers certificate for this mod or do u just pretend its stock?

What conversion ? 5 stud?

technically yes you problerly do need to get them engineered because youve change the factory issed set up and there is no rear disc avaliable from stock in a coupe in australia, but in saying that ive never heard of anyone getting any hassle about it, I doubt the police whould ever notice anyways.
So just do it if you want to.

id doubt it would they even know. if your really worried just keep your old setup for awhile and if you have any problems (which I doubt) you could just change it back get ya pink slip then put back on and then go to a less observant inspection place next time.
