Feedback and Suggestions

Feedback: Don't like the placement and style of the join us on facebook button, very annoying.
Suggestion: Move it to the bottom of the page and make it more subtle so it looks like it's part of the forums format and colours ect. If that's not possible, put it just on the portal homepage somewhere, and not have it on eeeevery siiiiingle paaaage

Also, the "Latest Polls" on the homepage doesn't really show the latest poll. The one showing is well over 2 years old. Needs to update itself.

I was in the US with a few guys there and they were signing up to auslancer to check my ride thread. Had to ask me when aussie day was lol. They knew it was somewhere around the 26th tho :p

I cant remember the name of it, but there is a coding or something to do BBcode that automatically resizes large images so it doesnt throw out the forum layout.
When you click on the image, it then expands it to full size.

Might be a good addition for the forum :)

Yeah it used to do that but one of the updates must have broken it. Plan on ditching phpBB3 later in the year hopefully anyway.

Suggestion - please return the edit button. I'm not 2 years old and quite capable of correcting my own spelling mistakes or incorrect wording without going to a mod. The negative impacts of removing the edit button are greater than the benefits and it's just creating more work for the admin/mod team.

I understand that an absolute minority may abuse the system, but if someone says something out of line it is easy to quote them or report them if you see it and are offended. Besides, if someone says something negative and realises they were in the wrong and go back to change their post, where's the harm in that? Mods still have the ability to edit posts to clean them up if things get out of hand, but why make more work for them than needed?

You may not be 2 years old, but there are certainly others.

Maybe it'll encourage to think twice before posting now. It's not really up for discussion. You still have a limited time to edit your post, and you shouldn't be having to go back and changing thread titles constantly.

Lol what genius thought of that idea? Exactly how is anyone meant to change and update their first post of their ride thread now? I kept my first post updated for 2 years. It is THE place where I've kept track of everything I've done to my car updating it as I go, and now I just can't do that anymore? Yea cheers.

As I said in the other topic before bringing it here, Ride threads and For Sales are sections that people always update their posts in. Also cruise threads where we keep a list of attendees. Us users like the ability to change the title of their thread when they do a mod to our cars or the ability to say that certain items have sold that they have listed. This is the only forum I know of that stops you from editing your own posts.

How about stepping into an Admin's POV.
Where users can easily just change what they said in regards to slander, derogatory remarks, etc etc, and just easily "edit" it away.
And i've been on plenty of non car-related forums that impose this.

We can't see the previous versions of posts, if we could then this wouldn't be an issue would it?

Lol thanks, but is it any wonder I thought it wasn't you with posts like "it's not up for discussion"?
