CE Lancer Possible Engine Conversions

Well it's been a while since I last updated my saga but yesterday it has finally passed it's final with the engineer. 6a12 mivec in ce2 coupe. For anyone interested after 8 tries at passing the emissions test, you need to run a euro 4 cat, ulp98 plus octane boost, aswell as new o2 sensor.
Must say I now have after near 2 years of stuffing around have a fully legal 200hp v6 lancer that is P plate legal. All stuffed into a total package weighing 1000kg.
It's even funnier when i'm 33 and have some young p plater try and race me and you leave them behind doing 2nd gear starts from standing still, and 8k limiter from factory.

electronix, the only 4g93 i know of with a twin cam motor is the 4g93p

stock CM5A motor, 1.8L twin cam turbo motor

as far as i can tell yes the orientation is around the wrong way but i cant see why we just cant get a long block and throw the twin cam head onto it haha
i own both a CC and a CE and ive been looking into how id get a 4g93p into the CE haha since im selling my CC in a few months, i love the proton 4G93p haha
it looks soo cool and has heaps of power xD
another thing is the evo4-5-6 motor should bolt straight in
 
4g93p head won't go on a ce block without extensive cost..

For starters due to the orientation spinning the head for the ce will actually cause the intake ports to be at the exhaust manifold and exhaust to be at the intake manifold.

Which means you would have to custom fab a set of exhaust headers to fit the orientation.

As with all these jobs I can see there being a fair few more hiccups that would require custom fabrication work meaning big $$$$

If your dead seat on twin cam in a ce probably better of going a mivec or proper orientation dohc head conversion as it would be cheaper and is proven to bolt up nicely.

i have a ce lancer 96 gsr and i have put in a evo 7 engine 4g63t. it was factory 4g93t . does anyone know if i could keep the old wiring and what id have to alter in order to keep it?
 
Has anyone got info on swapping in a 4g93. Do I only need the engine wiring or will I need the interior wiring off the ecu as well. Im planning on getting the wiring in engine bay and ecu. I have no option of getting key as its from the wreckers so I guess I have to go aftermarket ecu.

so i have a 4G15 DOHC that is already AWD,it has cam belts on the left side, so am i correct in saying a 4G93 is out of the question?

Not out of the question, but the 4G93 DOHC(CM5A) such as I have isn't a widely available engine.
Your be better off going the next step and getting an Evo engine & trans. It's what I'd do if I were in your shoes.

what is the difference between the CM5A version? and do you know if a 4g63 would fit up to my box ?(even though i now its not ideal) its a JDM MX , love the car but want more power and wasnt wanting to spend much over 1500$ i work at cylinder head shop and get parts/fabrication cheap or free
 
The 4G15 and G93 FWD ones are the same fit but have slightly different gear ratios.The AWD ones could be the same as their FWD brothers... Could be.
4G63, obviously are all AWD and don't fit with the others...

Both CM5A and 4G63 your looking at 2-4 X your budget, maybe more.

If your budget is $1500 maybe look at turboing what you have.

Hey guys new here, just wondering, I have a 2000 CE GLi Lancer. As you guys probably know the stock 4cyl is pretty gutless. I've been offered a 2009 Lancer engine for $1800 as a whole unit. Would it be a viable option and what would be involved in terms of changing the ecu/cpu etc.

If youve got a spare 8k+, anything is possible I guess.

That would need significant re-work of the mounting and potentially even the firewall, which I mean.....that stuff isnt cheap, and then you put the engineering cert on top (they would likely want you to put bigger brakes on too).

In terms of the ECU, you just swap it out for the CJ one....you would need a key reader to go with the ECU (and the key that matches), which would also be a bit of a pain if you dont have all that.

You would likely have to make your own custom loom for all the CE connections in the dash....ugh, pass.

I wouldnt reccomend doing it unless you have deep pockets and dont mind the pain and hassle of basically being one of the first blokes in the country to give it a go.

For the $1800 you said it would cost in the other thread I'd be looking for a complete FTO instead.
So you'll have everything you need, engine, box, wiring looms, ect. And at least then you have everything you need in one package and also get the 5 studs as well.
