CC engine compatability

can someone give me a list of possible engines i can put into my cc lancer, its currently a 1.5L carbi(stock standard apart from exhaust manifold + pipe).
also could i get a list of possible upgrades for the engine to give it more power whilst remaining legal? im on my red P's

p plate legal conversion is a 1.8L 4g93 efi engine (4cy 1.8l sohc)

much better power, much better range of mods available, and its electronicly fuel injected
these engines are also a dime a dozen, plenty of parts to repair them

or non p-plate legal conversions~
you can find proton 2.0L dohc engines
hyundai engines fit from the older ones

there is heaps, go for a walk thru ur wreckers, look in hyundias and protons and other mitsubishis for an engien the same orienation as yours (as in when facing the engine, cams are on the right, dizzy and g-box are on the left)

What res said

VR4
EVO
GSR
Proton Satria GTI/M21
Lancer 1.8 Single cam
theres oodles to choose from

or you can go

nimbus 2.4L
galant 4g63
galant/magna 6g's

hyundai 2ls

apparently the KIA tiburon or watever engine fits aswell

yup, still fit so long as its front wheel drive and right orientation

somehow i dont think it would, wouldnt i have to do a FWD to RWD conversion on it first? cuz i cnt see how it would fit with a east-west gearbox on it

tibiron is fwd. whether the engine is on the drivers or the passenger side is another question.

am i the only one who is getting pissed at all these [useless] engine threads?
as far as im concerned, if you are going to do an engine conversion, you already know your shit or you're paying someone who does, so why are you posting a thread for info that's been covered a thousand times.

ITT:
- what engine fits?
- usual answers
- hopes and dreams busted

who said i was going to do a engine conversion? i was just asking about what sort of engines i could look at IF i decided to do one later on so i knew... and i looked in the forums for CC i saw one other thread about it? so how can that be "1000 times"?? and the tiburon engine is west-east rather than east-west.. ive never owned a lancer before, nor have i worked on 1. its the whole reason i joined this sh1t.. so i could ask people what engines could possibly fit into a CC lancer and what possible mods i could do to it to make it more unique and fast without making it illegal to drive.. if u have a problem with all these "useless" engine threads from people that kno nothing about lancers.. why dont you make a sticky thread containing all the possible engine conversions and engine mods that can be done to each lancer model?...

from MPF (mirage performance forums)

also there is still alot of engine out there that will mount up, that arnt listed

doneskies.

- By far, the most popular swap for the 4g chassis is the 2.0L 4g63t. There's many threads on this topic and a search within the pages of MPF is highly recommended if this swap is considered.

thanks to this brilliant invention called the internet, you can search the entire world for information. amazingly, one or two other people with CC's around the world have thought about putting in a different motor: ever thought, 'jeez, i wonder i anyone else has thought of this? maybe ill search so i dont come across as a knobend'

see above

there you go. i probably missed a few, but all those are from memory so sue me

theres a fair few engines you could throw in it IF u wanted to in a later date, u will deffinately get sick of the 1.5 carby power
1 thing i suggest if your gonna decide to do an engine change in the future and before you get carried away, is fix the CC GL coupe and sell it to buy a GLXi 1.8 EFI
With the 1.5 carby if you wanted to throw an EFI engine in it you will need to change ALOT of parts, including an EFI tank, fuel lines, wiring looms, ECU, engine, engine control relay, hydrolic Gearbox and petals etc to replace the cable clutch setup in the GL, you will be spending over 3k on parts and engine
I have a GLXi shell here if you needed to grab the looms, fuel tank, lines, hydrolic gearbox setup (no box), also has an EVO brake booster in it and Galant VR4 front brakes, you can have it all for $500

well that makes things alot easier. wats special bout the 4g92Mivec engine?
how come this wasnt mentioned earlier? yeh i agree i probably shouldve searched for this, however there was very little information in the ce/cc lancer section of this forum. i looked thru every post in the ce/cc lancer section before i posted this.

The mivec, its makes a pretty good upgrade for NA if you not going to serious (and if you can actually find the engine, they are pretty scarce these days)

Theres a heap more that fit you car aswell.

Theres a twin cam/single cam version of pretty much all those motors.

Its really comes down to how easily you can find that motor, and how much you want to pay.

oh okai that kinda sucks how that engine is pretty rare, wouldnt be too bad to have a mirage engine, u can do alot more to mirage engines than you can to the standard 1.5lr lancer motors

you can do alot to most of the engines on that list, have a look at Mikeys CC Coupe to see what you can do with a 4g63T in a coupe.

4G92 1.6 Mivec, is simular to the Honda VTEC engines, high reving and produces same power as a 1.8 dohc

ah okai, i mite ring around a few places n see if i can get one to put aside in my shed n rebuild it after my lancer is fixed up
