Stock 1.8L Coupe what to do first?

Depends on what you want to do further down the track.

If you wanted to turbo then 2.5"-3" would be needed in a catback, but if not 2 1/4" would be sufficient, and I think the stock is 1 3/4" or 2" so really not a huge difference, just better sound and a bit better breathing.
 
So catback is more necessity than option? :S I didnt think it would matter as I've been following the RPW guide:

Unfortunately money and other priorities dont permit more serious mods so am I all good going ahead with this? :?
 
CAI, extractors, 2 1/4" exhaust, high flo (or no) cat, lowered on kingsprings super lows (or better yet coilovers), front strut bar, rear strut bar, upgraded suspension bushes. they are basics with no really big expensives, if u wanna go more without turboing, larger throttle body, larger injectors, upgraded fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, getting the factory ecu tune ( as mitsubishi's in general are tuned fairly lean), 02 or AFS ecu chips. i could go on but thats a good enough start hope thats a help
 
Alright guys so I got a 2" catback with a lukey ultra flo and a tip today. Looks good, sounds good and Ill post pics up soon.

I just have one question... Ive noticed a burning smell since picking up the car when I turn it off and get out. Just a few minutes ago I was at a shopping centre and I noticed the smell around the door and pedal area of the car. I havent changed my driving style at all so I dont think its the clutch or anything otherwise I would have smelled it with the stock pipe too (right?). Could this simply be attributed to the new piping "burning in"? :-?
 
probably new exhaust running in nothing to be worried about if your car was fine before hand

I was shi**ing myself thinking I had burned the clutch or something but I deduced that it mustve been the new metal.
