vent size is perfect. its still bigger than the OEM intake trunk
it will pass more than enough air to the engine
 
although i admire your creativity, i dont see how a small hole like that feeding air into a short ram intake (im guessing) will benifit more than a full cai?
 
i see a diagram is needed...

its a SRI/CAI hybrid of sorts
taking hopefully the benefits of both (SRI-response, and CAI-power) with less or none of the draw backs (SRI-hot air, and CAI-lag)

the setup is airtight and only inlets air from the headlight vent .: 100% fresh/cold air induction
the setup also has a short pipe distance to the throttle body with the least ammt of bends having a better flow characteristic of the SRI which "might" aid in response

the small hole is plenty big to accomodate the air requirements for the engine even at high rpm, it is no smaller in area than your average air intake trunk on newer cars

Also from my fluids class last semester,

The size of the cross sectional is measured perpendicular to fluid flow. Maybe thats whats tricking some people.
 
Ah now i see what your doin, i thought u were just havin a short ram and a hole in the headlight feeding air into the engine bay, nah looks like a good design aye, didnt realise u were gona connect it.
 
Whats the point of doing all that effort if he ain't going to have a direct feed. Question res how are u stopping water getting in there if it rains

:shh: if i dont think about it hard enough it wont happen :shifty:

im not overly worried about it yet. i was thinking of having the short pipe to the filter box raised on an angle with a small conduit drain pipe running down so it can drain
filter is oiled, i might install a thin sheet of foam before the filter to catch some of it

but to be honest if TPG isnt having any issues with his (and he has a much bigger opening) i think i'll be right
 
I'm thinking of doing something like this with my old headlights. Problem is one of the new one's broke, the bulb lens cover snapped off... So have to swap them about to make one good set!

retrofit them, no need for any of that, dooo eet (after the engine is in ;) )
 
internal screws are all towards the indicator end of the case

updates soonish, but its slow going, dont have a big modding budget at the moment
new projectors should arrive very soon, sometime this week
 
projectors arrived today... took out of box.... put back in, straight on ebay to get a refund, seller sent me completely different ones which are useless to me
completely different to the pictured set and described item

hopefully this run of bad luck is over....

they would have been fine if they were the described and pictured item....

yeh trs is next set after these are returned and money back.
