Thanks for the welcome man. :)

Just wondering, how did you tell it was 2.4? trying to learn about cars crazily in the last 6 months and just trying to register anything and everything in my brain.

the only mivec engine available in a lancer (apart from the newest one) is the 2.4. and the other engines all look different aswell.

we just know what each engine looks like, you will get there young padawan

Oh cool, thanks guys. Going to start with interior modifications while I am on a lower budget, then jump to outside modifications when its insurance is in my name, as my parents are currently paying the insurance while its in their name. :D

Head deck will be in my hands soon, then maybe seat covers?

Sounds like a good start.....maybe chuck in a steering wheel cover and seatbelt sash if you desire :) . Also floor mats and some fresh scented air freshener will add some zing. ;)

Start with the cheap basics and work your way up. Remember you get the best and most satisfying result from DIYing as I've learnt. But of course go to mechanics/specialists when need be. If you scour this CG/CH thread you'll find plenty of ideas for mods and we're always here to help so feel free to ask whatever.

Some DIYs have been added here for Lancer CG/CH: viewforum.php?f=42

Btw looks like you've picked up a nice clean Mivec-kickin Lancer.

I will end up getting a sports steering wheel, going to hit the interior first. Got some nice red L.E.D lights on the way, courtesy of @rigby, will chuck one in each door, and one in the boot. Will pay off my head deck slowly, applying for a second job soon, get some more money to start buying more things. :D

In the doors? CH's have courtesy lights? Make sure they are t10's and not 31mm festoons cus they won't fit :p they will fit the boot light though

I dont think CH's have courtesy lights on the doors...maybe the wagon but definetly not the sedans. I could be wrong. Does yours have them RenderedUnsafe?

mine had them I'm pretty sure.

edit: turns out I'm probably* delusional, common theory is they don't have them

*I reserve the right to not be wrong about this later.

Haha, I will figure that part out when I get around to it.

not sure.. I will check a bit later today. Better.. if it doesn't my boot will be very bright! Could chuck two in my dash then too.

Will be fine. It's the same engine in the VRX, the VRX is just a higher trim level (interior and bodykit mainly)

Installing some red L.E.D's (Thanks Riggers) -

Boot light..

Do I take the big plastic thing off to reveal the L.E.D?

What you mean do you take the plastic thing off? That's part of the light so you can't, or don't need to lol... Lights up the boot fine doesn't it? :p

I think he means the plastic cover that conceals the adhesive on the back if any.
