Mirage to 1.8L conversion $1499 fully installed

yes dealt with him and no wouldnt recommend. Just message henry and see what he can do

A few people arent a fan of him, but if you have a look at d3x ride thread, all his engine parts including is forged engine has been build by LLT, and it looks pretty good.

It seems a pretty decent price for just one day and zero mucking around.

Exactly what i was thinking a bit to good to be true surely it cant be that easy. There must be extra cost involved, and how tidy would the wiring/loom job be in that amount of time.

Ive done a conversion in less than 12 hours lol and it looked mint

Lui isnt too bad, ive helped him out many times and he got me cheap stuff :)

Yeh to be honest the quality of Luis work, knowledge and parts guarantee is all top notch. In my experience his downfalls are his communication, delivery to shipped items and some quality control. I don't see any issues with local dealings, he is also competitively priced and refer to me or one of his well invested customers and price may be lowered slightly

I've also read good and bad things about him.
He used to have a website but it has gone offline for some reason

i have heard plenty of bad

i recon ask henry what he can do, i have only heard good stuff about his work ;)

I've dealt with lui in the past. No issue at all. As above, he is a busy guy (like all of us) so his postage times suffer, but he's a nice bloke to talk to, and pretty rational with things.

Going by the other work I've seen on the net that he has done lol, you would think your car is in safe hands.

When he converted a CE 1.5L to a 2L couple years back for a MCA member, he apparently did a woeful job of the electrics and that person had quite a few issues I believe. I was also under the impression he was kicked off MLGA as a sponsor for doing the dirty on people. If you are pressed for cash maybe take the risk, but speak to henry first about what he can do.

Give me $1300 and a hungry jacks whopper with cheese meal and i'll do it for you ;-)

Lol your easy pleased.
Does any one know what the go would be after getting this conversion done with the RTA is it just a straight engine number swap and thats the end of it.

Should be, if another production car of the same model/year used that engine then it should be fine.. unless forced induction

The swap is pretty straight forward.. but I would recommend that you get yourself a wrecked car that has all the bits you are going to need... this will probably only set you back about $500 then hire a engine crane $70 per day a few decent tools 10mm 12mm 14mm 17mm and a 32mm sockets plus a pry bar possibly a rattle gun and compressor or a big arsed breaker bar.

for a novice I would say allow 3 days...

I am still waiting for a 60mm throttle body that I bought in March 2011, I waited 7 months for 2 ported heads I am still waiting for more of those parts to arrive all the internals arrived to me looking like they had been thrown in the dirt, I am still waiting for a engine wire loom... all of these parts were paid for including postage...

 Wow thats not good at all THB thats crazy.
Iam def thinking of just doing this myself I enjoy doing it and I figure if you going to do an engine conversion , for the first timer its got to be the easiest one to do. Ive changed engines before but never a conversion so with a bit of knowledge and some help from the forum iam sure it'll be fine.
The 1.5 always drives me nuts going up big hills is always embarassing at least in my MR it had not problem handling that and in the little mirage it should make quite a difference aswell as a having a better base to start mods on then the 1.5l

good for you for wanting to give it a go... there are plenty of people on here that have done the swap and can lend advice... have you got a gregories manual they are great to use - my first swap I used it all the time to make sure I was doing it right and every swap after that never had to pick it up... just make sure you get a good condition engine open up the oil filler ontop of the engine and have a look inside and see if the internals look like they are covered in a oil that has been burnt on if so walk away look for another engine/car
And you are right the G93 is a great starting point for adding more power.

Thanks for the useful info chowetime its appreciated from someone with your knowledge. Just picked up a new gregorys tbh why I havnt bought one before cosidering this is 2nd mirage and ive had 3 coupes I have no idea. do you know anyone whos put the stock 4g93 in there mirage so I coud ask what result/differnces i could expect to see Ive searched but for some reason I cant find any.
Iam going to get a coupe and gut it take a million pictures then just swap the lot into my mirage be a real bonus if I could find a wrecked MR but i doubt it. Iam also wondering if it would be best to buy the exact same year model (99) iam suspecting them (97 to 2001) to be the same but wondering if theres is any subtle in wiring etc they may hold up the progress.
On a side note i noticed your MR and cant wait to see what you do there. I also had one which was lets just say quite unique:

It went really well had a reco engine but I sold it about 2 years ago, it had racked up so many k's traveling from wollongong to sydeny every day for work by my wifes friend for 8yrs. Wish I knew what iam going to do now because it would have been a perfect doner car
Cheers
