Markus' 4g94 ride thread

My two cents….
All lancers 4G93, 4G94 come out with 4 into one extractors. My opinion go for equal length tuned extractors and yes work in the top end of the rev range.. These engines like to rev anyway. The standard VRX suspension is good anyway if warn I would consider replacing the genuine stuff.
TB mods are better suited if you are really going for it like changing cams, cylinder head porting and retune… This includes the minimum of good flowing exhaust and intake.
Possible turbo charging but again my opinion I would opt for a supercharger would make for a quick very responsive car but also cost a lot of money to set up $$$
Just remember performance increases would be minimal for the cost and maybe consider saving your money and just buy an EVO because by the time you finish you probably could have anyway.
I have a Nissan Silvia and easily spent 20k on basics like turbo, exhaust, ECU, suspension, brakes and the list goes on..
I bought my VRX because it’s nice to drive, economical, reliable and very easy to work on and I also have a CE VRX they are just great cars 

Cheers for your opinion on it man, really appreciate it.

After some time owning the car and starting to buy things I've come to realise I think I was a little to ambitious with the 'future mods' list. For not I'm definitely just going to stick with a small list of mods to make it a more fun, reliable daily.

I'm definetely going for a cat-back and probably looking into buying some headers. Now thats three people that have told me the 4 into 1 will be fine now. So, in your opinion, do you think the RPW headers and flex pipe is a good pickup?

Tb and IM may be something I look at later down the line but for now those things are going to be taken off the list.

I’m not a great lover of flex pipe. Nothing beats a professionally installed quality exhaust system.
Reputable brand header will do the job fine, I would look at tuned length (that means all four pipes are the same length on the header).
Good quality high flow cat and mild steel mandrel bend exhaust would sound great. Stainless will cost more, have a raspy sound and more prone to crack over time.
A good free flow intake, I would keep away from K & N as they are oiled filters and the oil can upset your AFM. I use a K & N on my Nissan but I run MAP sensor not AFM. Another suggestion would be just a good replacement panel filter as VRX already has cold air intake set up.
Free up the air going in and coming out should make it a little nicer to drive and probably make for better fuel economy.

I know that these guys do the exact same style but for the 2.0l ch model (my model). I've sent them a message and they said they can get them in, I believe they are pretty decent brand yes?
And would you roughly know how much and exhaust shop would charge for install?

You would have to get a quote from an exhaust place.. Best keep away from midas and go to an exhaust shop. Nothing cheap unfortunately. If you replace the cat I would go for a good flowing metal cat that will cost you another $300 at a guess maybe a little less.
Just some pipe made and fitting would be around $200 – $300 possibly. Really depends on how much work needs to be done.
From the look at the header you want it looks like it is much longer and would require the front to be changed.
Really wouldn’t know until you get all parts and fabricated.

Okay Another update.

Although the very little amount of ch lovers on here probably don't care, I'm going to tell you all about it anyway!
I finally got around to getting my front bumper fixed and repainted and I have to say, for an on the street job they've done an amazing effort. I can hardly tell it ever happened.

So after getting that repaired and the arrival of my h4 healight adapters, I decided to spend most of my saturday afternoon installing my new headlights and attaching the new lip I've got. Which correct me if I'm wrong, I have no seen anyone have on this site yet? :)

Anyway here are the results:

Let me know what you think.

Lip is nice man, need some skirt n pod lips to tie it all in now :p

Yea I know I can get the same material side skirts but I don't know where to get my hands on pods, but I'm not really concerned about them anyway :')

Eyelids... definately need eyelids... sideskirt extenssions will make a nice addition to the look..

There are a few of us CH people on here but most I think just watch these days...

Made the mistake of getting the 2L ahaha
2.4L MIVEC ftw

Great car, nonetheless.

Hope your plans go well.
Love the lip and rims.

As much as I do sometimes regret not getting a 2.4, I'm not really that fussed. There were no mivecs around the price range in my area at the time of purchase, ahh well :')

I actually have a pair of carbon fibre eyelids in my cupboard I've been yet to put on... I kind of wanted colour matched ones but I can't find them anywhere.
