yo.

looking at buying an 4channel amp for the car , to power the fronts and then bridge two channels for the sub.

(just leave the rear off the headunit as no one hardly is in the back)

there is so many different brands and type, i dont know what to choose . (for amp and sub)

so could u guys recommend some brands and even been brand model numbers

i was thinking maybe two 10 inch's and a amp for the boot or maybe one 12"inch .

p.s on a bit of a budget, but all depends on my tax back :D

cheers

Goto JB HiFi, they have a few subs and amps for a low price, but 4ch are still pricey... I got my kicker pack for 800, whihc was splits, rears and sub/amp...

I personally would use a dedicated mono amp for subs.. I have a digital mono Kenwood Amp twin output mono (1800w peak) running a single 12" (1200w peak) Polk MM series sub

Then you could buy a 4-ch to just run your interior splits/coax... perhaps.

mono''s still best for subs, multi channels aren't designed for it.

still works well when tuned well

2 channel and a mono
or a 6 ch and run fronts, rears and 2 subs

pfff and how much power? 30rms each... waste of money.

used 3 amps, mono for subs and 2 channel for fronts and 2 channel for rear. The only way to get great sound out of your speakers.

check out ryda for some good prices on amps and stuff, some of the gear isnt too bad for a mid/low end user like myself

haha good response . cheers boys.
yeah as i said on a bit of a budget , so a mono and 2 channel expensive ?

would do people think of kicker ? or any other brand model numbers ?

Thats right, I think John still recommends Audison or Hertz when members say they only have a $300 budget. lol
just sayin

every manufacturer has it's place... Kicker is not my choice, but then again...Polk is bagged hard on here, although I think it's quite good.

If it is what your ear likes to hear...buy it.

was looking around . so .

FUSION CA-AM41200 AMPLIFIER (4 channel amp) 150w x 4 rms at 2ohms.
FUSION CA-AM10900 amplifier (mono) 300 w rms at 4ohm
FUSION CP-SW120 12" Subwoofer ( 325w rms at 4ohm

would that work ?

Looked up the specs for the Fusion sub, not bad. Has a higher peak, but slightly lower continuous than the MM Polk. In all, looks quite good for the price ($120).

that's not a bad setup, basically the same as what i have, works well for a budget system
from what i have found is that the fusion subs sound the best when they are in their optimum enclosure size, sounds obvious i know, i tried mine in one of those pre-built boxes and it sounded crap. The optimum size for that sub is 50l
