Hi all, here is Proton's new offing... The Jebat.

It's made in partnership with Mitsu, of course, and is a directly copied RA, on the engineering side....

What do you think? Not much of a facelift!

Na, Im not a fan at all... Rear end.... hmmm and The black and white doesnt work for me.

I think they should stick with one colour.

looks like a heap of dog *poo*e, the cj wasnt the prettyest shell but this is far far worse

if they kept the big black areas white it would have looked fairly nice and a bit of an improvemnt on the cj RA, but as that is.... ewwww

worse still, they copied a Lambo...

Proton = World class automotive style copiers... It's like they almost copied a weird version of a Monaro's rear end in the process... vomit!

well proton have been known to have some pretty ugly as fk cars
the satira was pretty much a copy of the civic and mirage merged, they never had much appealing looks

The RA copy, is just that... nothing new but a weirded-out fibreglass acid trip to the exterior...

the wide front looks good.. just the back where the fuel cap and rear bumper meet it looks like a fibreglass add on and doesnt blend in with the body well..

im not a fan of pretty much from the A pillar down to the rear.

fronts alright coz it looks like an evo X lol

Death to them I say, all we need is a duck, we can class the designers (copiers) as a witch then burn em!

Pwahahaha! That proton looks ridiculous

the lancer... The kit itself looks nice. Colour scheme needs more thought. I love black on white but that's going overboard on a good thing.

Hmmm the wide body looks cheap and tacky and like a half assed job.

But have you seen how they mod CJs around the Singapore/Malaysian area of Asia? They come out looking much alike that. So safe to say they'll eat that *poo* up over there....

You have to remember that proton aren't quite a world class manufacturer. They simply don't have the money, the skills nor the demands. Their cars are mainly built for domestic consumption. They are still years behind the Koreans, and even further behind the Japs/Europeans.

Given they started out having bought Mitsubishis old factory, designs, workers etc when Mitsubishi exited Malaysia, there was always going to be a strong linkage between the two. Nothing wrong with a rebadging, your smaller Fords and Holdens are rebadges.

In fact, your Holdens, Fords and Toyotas in Aus would be in the same state as Proton, if not for the likes of their giant parent companies. Whilst I'm not a fan of their cars, you have to respect a little manufacturer of a little country trying to put their mark on the world with what little resources they have.
