hopefully it does USB host which means i can get away with having 1 device on my dash instead of 3. (gps with evoscan, rear view camera on rear view mirror, in car cam)

I'm hoping what ever one I pick up works good at night, being that I do most my driving at night.

Keep them coming guys, I'm interested to see what you've got.

i cant remmeber wat brand, but my brother has one mounted on his car, auto charges and records when car is on, and when the car is off, it records when there is motion detected

Hello guys..I also want to search out the cams of the car but at the end i can not find...if you remember the name of the cam then you please pm me and tell me the name of that brand which is automatically saved the record of the car.

Most of them do that. It must be hooked to the cigarette lighter 12v input which only activates when the ignition is in START or ON (i think). Auto charging is a good feature only if the battery is Lithium Ion which auto shuts off at full charge. If its Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh then it'll over charge.

Anyway are you able to find out the brand?

They sell some in Target or Big W, was gonna buy 1 the other night

Looks ok, i havnjt done any research on them though, cost about $70

I could only find this one from bigw

Easy to setup, simple to use and highly effective, this car DVR has 8 infrared illuminators which allows for better recording at night or in low lighting conditions. The True 720p high definition video provides enough detail to pick out number plates, street signs and even the faces of witnesses. Recording in a continuous loop, the Crash Cam HD turns on when you car is on and turns off when you switch off the ignition - simply "set and forget". You can even choose to leave the unit on (it has a rechargable battery) when you're not in the vehicle and the Crash Cam HD will conveniently start recording as soon as it senses movement... ideal for those times when your car is unattended in a car park. The Crash Cam HD can easily playback content on the colour LCD screen or simply by connecting to a PC or TV using the supplied cables (composite out only).

Anyone bought this before? Whats the quality like?

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. YOu buy a $300 dash cam DVR its going to be good, you buy a $20 ebay one, its not going to be as good..

My boss has had his now for the better part of 3 years, it's still better than the cheap ones.
Although his cost a few hundred $$$ even back then, but still holds up well against the cheapies.

I bought a $30 one, was meant to record sound, it didn't, couldn't even see the footage at night even though it had IR, and it didn't auto overright the ad card like it was meant to.

So I got me a car cam, Got a NAVMAN MiVue 358.
Going on the video's I've seen on youtube it looked good for night time driving which is when I do most my driving.
But I must say I am a little disappointed, seems a little grainy than the examples on youtube.
Maybe the firmness in the ride might account for a bit of it, I'm not sure.

Here's a few samples. Both are things I've picked up in the last two weeks.

I'm glad you turned right off the main street of Windsor(I think).
I was sick of seeing the ass of that Holden in front with the chev badge.
