Idling problems 4G93

haha i'm certain your idle issue will be fixed if you go back to a stock cam. i too had an idle issue. My car idle would jump up and down every time i disengage the clutch and would only settle at the 1.1k rpm when the car comes to a full stop. Still a tad too high of an idle. found out the issue was the ISC coil. Got a replacement from a wreck and it solved the issue. apparently its a real common problem for the ISC to blow.

i've had probably 4isc's fail in the 3 years i've owned my car (thats what you get for cheaping out on wrecker parts)

Yeah if it is the idle motor thing it's one of those parts you're better off getting new in the long run.

I had to adjust my idle screw down (while out) as it was revving at 1500 or more without the AC on and still above 1000 at it's lowest. It seems to drop when warmed up proper so I might need some more fine tuning, to get by. I will check with a mechanic Monday if it's still a problem and some prices.

Wasn't planning on an engine swap right now but I'll just see how things go, no point spending big money on engine parts only to swap the engine out.

Yeah that's probably the next step, but for now I'll wait until money. Then maybe do something during the break.

Now just how do you clean out the throttle body, is there a DIY here?

Only problem disconnecting the battery is it will screw up my radio station settings!

Just clean the throttle body man. Its free lol

grab carby/throttlebody cleaner and spray it down it's guts.

if you want to do it realy well pull it off and bath the sucker in it

I'll grab some tomorrow at SCA, they shouldn't be to busy ;)

So I just take off the inlet from the air filter and clean inside inlet manifold right?
