Fuel Economy

The fuel light will come on with 10 ltrs to go there's heaps written up on the net about this. my fuel gauge hardly moves for like 200ks then from 3 quarter to 1 quarter it drops fast then the last quarter takes forever. plus the extra couple that you can stick in the fill neck.
exactly what my gauge does. the first and last quarter take ages to go down and the middle drops real quick.
Also the manual says fuel light comes on with 8 litres left, but mine starts to flash every 20 seconds maybe with about 12 left, then slowly more often with about 10 left, and that's as far as I've taken it.

i get 300km to the tank with my engine usually
the best to date is 350km which is when the car shut off.
car is tuned for 11.8-12.1 petrol afr using FIC 1050 injectors.

Double posting this but kinda proud of it :) My weeks worth of driving so far...

my mean little gokart made it to 660kms this week when it hit the empty line
on regular 91 unleaded, and that was with a right old thrashing as per usual

I shall see what how I go then aye when I hit the light and the E line :)
Yea let us know, and see how many litres you fill up!
The most I ever got was just over 500k's, probably could have stretched it to 550 but that's about it, but I'm a 1.8L. You'd get nearly another 100k's I reckon!

Haha, I got 4G93 inside :p :) I just love that my car somehow is still a fuel magician after 225 XXX km :)

My 1.5L gets about 450-500.
I've been using a app called "Road Trip" to calculate the average.
Gets about 5.9-6.5L\100kms

oh yeh, forgot you had the weird cluster without a tacho!

maybe not having a tacho is the way of better fuel economy

Haha, don't worry it's seriously on my to do list if I can transfer my km over. Although, I do think that I may drive slightly more efficiently without one. I usually get around the high 6's to low 7's with my daily driving. :)

Not for me, I go off the sound of the engine

Mmm, I sometimes don't even have music on and drive around which for me is a big step cause I'm a music junkie :p. I love not having a tacho in some ways cause it makes me kind of communicate with the car and really listen to the way I drive. :) If I have a bad driving day, I have a bad day. If everything comes into line in the car the world seems just that little bit clearer. God I must sound like I'm stoned... :silent:

I see where your coming from, most of the cars I've owned have not had tacho's, so listening to the car has just become natural to me.

Speaking of economy, I filled up mine this morning, my average from last fill up was 7.2L/100kms. I must have been driving it a bit harder this week :p

Transferring the k's over is a piece of piss just unscrew the speed module and swap it easy as.

This is as game as I was going to get. The fuel light had been on and off for a bit as well.

And then the amount I put in :)

Nice, that's bloody decent! And that's how much it is just for 91 over here at the moment :/
