Fuel Economy

Okay so basically my fuel gauge is broken -_-
The new parts will be here next week but i have no idea where my fuel is at.
If anyone knows roughly how many km they get out of a full tank (1.8L) then i can just set the trip meter everytime i fill up.

So, please help me!

My Mr atm is about 430kms from 40l ( still 10l in the tank). Maybe fill up when you get to say 200ks fill up again so you can gauge your car/driving style and work it out from there.

This has been asked 1 billion times. The average is 450-550 depending how you drive.

my lancer only does 330-400 km full tank premium unleaded, used to do 500+ dunno what went wrong .... changed 02 sensor.. spark plugs.. did nothing, stopped trying to find issue

i get around 400km, thats refueling 35L so having 5L left over, using V power, i never use anything else.
Dlusional, try getting your fuel injectors cleaned and replacing fuel filter, may improve fuel economy

oh did that as well, could it be i just swapped the stock airbox intake for a normal pod? now it just sits there as a SRI probably sucking in heat

you mean 15L. CE's have a 50L tank.

Even tho the gauge is on the empty line, you probably still got easy 15L left. I drive now till the petrol lights starts to come on which leaves about 8-10L left, getting 430-450ish k's.

There is a whole thread on this somewhere....

I don't think you should have to limp that badly. Sedans have a 50 litre tank so therefore should be able to travel slightly further in theory. I can usually get 600 km a tank before any sign of the light. However, it is definitely down to how you drive. From personal experience I usually fill up at about around the 450 km mark at times and I can only get around 35 litres in the tank.

sedan is 50l, coupe/rage 40l
Are you sure coupe has 40L? Last I filled up was 39.6L. Couldn't have only had 400ml of petrol left?!

The car's manual says 50L, go look

geez i have only ever filled up 35L max ever
my sensor is way out then

i have had the fuel light on for a while and gone around a corner up a slight hill and car splutters as no fuel it the engine. when i filled up it was 41.2l

i know for sure that my car has a 40l tank capacity, manual says so also, but this might only be the case for series one and maybe 2 coupes, including mirages.

what year is your coupe? series one two or three?
2000 Mr , i think cc coupe where 45l, someone needs to check there gregoreys I'm just about positive there 50l. my fuel light had come on in the garage but was not on the way to servo and the gauge was dead on the empty line.i

just checked the gregorys manual, it does say 50l could have sworn i saw 40L, so when i fill up i still have 15l left even though its on empty, the hell?

Yea exactly the same as mine. And you say you get 550k's out of 35L geezus! I have just started letting it sit on empty for like nearly 80k's and then i fill up about 40L. got 513k's from 40L the last time.

It's normal I'd say for it to get to the empty line with about 33ish litres left.

And maybe the fuel tank capacity increased sometime. Mines an '02 and its 50L

The fuel light will come on with 10 ltrs to go there's heaps written up on the net about this. my fuel gauge hardly moves for like 200ks then from 3 quarter to 1 quarter it drops fast then the last quarter takes forever. plus the extra couple that you can stick in the fill neck.
