usually the throttle position sensor or idle speed controller/sensor die on the 4g15/93 and thaa effects idle the way you are discribing

basically grab a new throttle body with sensors to match the ones u have currently
Can i test it somehow? Dont wanna spend money on a new one if mines fine lol

i dunno how to test it unless somone near you can lend you their 4g15 throttle body with sensors and if it works with their tb on then its ur tb sensors

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

stall on idling? does it cought and choke with alot of smoke coming out of exhaust?

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

No smoke. Dunno if its worth mentioning but if not stalled at idle rpm is dropping to like 200 then back to normal then 2000 again. Sort of a second at each speed.....

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Iv organised with my boss to bring home my works OBD scan tool to see wassup

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

hmm a few ideas check your map sensor see that that is ok as it sounds like the engine is "rev hunting" which usually indicates a fault in the map sensor or another air flow sensor but you have a G15 so it only leave the MAP to cause this problem have a look to see if there is no small leaks etc around the TB even retighten the TB bolts up - have you also tried adjusting the idle screw... or look at replacing the ISC on the throttle body...

Yea iv played with that screw a bit and made no difference. With either of these issues tho i cant see troubles with idle one day then a not so much as starting the next..... :?

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Idling really rough, now wont start.
Has it still got all its coolant?

Of course haha im not stupid ;)

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

But just for future knowledge wat would that represent? Head gasket?

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Yeah mate. It will generally be trying to push the coolant back out through the over flow bottle too.

Not saying that is your issue. But would be plausible (depending on engine set up - if you have a low static comp a blown head gasket could prevent it from starting at all)

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

I know you said you didn't want to spend money, but you could go to u-pull-it and grab a TB from a 1.8l, bore it out, install that and you'd be checking to see if the ISC is the issue and also upgrading at the same time lol Not really a quick solution though.

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Dont think tb size matters when boosted? Not 100% sure tho

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Have u check spark plugs and distributor that can cause it. It's usually something simple

Plugs are 2 months old and iridium, i have spark at leads and i have fuel at the fuel rail and have no
Fault codes. I would expect this sensor everyone is mentioning to send a fault code? Im almost thinking timing belt?

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Is your ecu stock? Maybe it has *poo* it self, even if its not stock if its not Those wires that got pulled out could have created a short and fried something, its a long shot but worth a thought

Stock evu with unichip piggy back. and i dunno, could be. Im outta ideas of my own

Re: Electrical problems im desperate and need help on the as

Its the same thing my old 1.8 did when the crank angle sensor wire sat on the fan belt n *poo* it self but the 1.5 doesnt have on so not sure tbh.

So you have spark & you have fuel?
Have you got a timing light to check you have spark at the correct time?

Can't remember, is your car a 4g93 or g15?
