Hell at least we know there's no point paying insurance.

If any of us crash chances are we will be dead so don't have to worry about damages.

hahaha, this made me laugh

Time for either a safer car or Learn to not die when crashing

Lol trust me ESP can do wonders if you stuff up, especially in the wet. I've never needed it, but I had tested what the car is like in the wet, with and without it coming too hot into a turn lol!

i want ABS, my brakes lock too often
anyone know if you can put an ABS module from another mitsu on a CE?
not a priority but its something i'll be looking into later down track

Even if you could you're looking at hubs (they need a wheel speed sensor in them), ABS unit, all the piping and then the controller which I imagine may need fine tuning...it simply wouldn't be worth it!

The better question is with some decent tyres and good driving you shouldn't be locking up that often. I think the only time I've ever tripped off the ABS is one emergency stop in the wet and momentarily over big bumps in the road when I am braking and have the coilovers up hard lol

I'd just practice threshold braking - Don't just slam the pedal down...while applying pressure try to pulsate the pedal quickly but only slightly using the ball of your foot. This also overrides ABS - which when perfected will actually improve stopping distance.

@ryan, ah so its hubs too, fair enough, i was more just curious if it was a possible fix, obviously not realistcly
its not something that happens ALL the time, but it has happened 3 or 4 times since i got the new brakes, all of which were on accident, something i would rather not have happen at all
im hoping with the rebuilt suspension going in and definitly some new tyres it should fix up a bit better

@d3x, yeh when i finished installing the new front brakes ages ago we took it out and did heaps of threshhold braking so i could get used to them, i'd say im as used to them as i'll ever be, like im in control 99.9% of the time, just that 0.1% when something will take u by suprise and you hit the pedal a bit hard out of suprise...

yes that true res. Guess tyres are just as important as brakes, best bet in investing in some decent tread rather than getting ABS! You could have massive 8 pot brakes with huge vented slotted drilled rotors but the capability of those brakes is only as good as the traction the tyres make with the road.

so basically its a matter of: car skids on brakings -> refine tyres setup-> car doesnt lock up -> refine brake capabilities -> car skids on braking -> refine tyre setup etc etc......you keep doing this until no more refining can take place i.e. you have now reached the maximum capabilities of your vehicle.

So i guess ABS is a valid upgrade if you are looking for safety instead of performance...well duh... sorry for going off topic.
