CUSTOM AIR BOX???

if you want to make one, get yourself a bunch of sheets of thick cardboard and put it there, draw a basic cut point on the card, cut, then test to see how it fits flush with the chassy
then tweak till u get it right, then use the cardboard as a template on the metal ;)

don,t tell anyone i said this but; theres a seller on ebay aust that is selling silicon joiners [ blue stuff ] very cheap. he has straight sections / short jopiners / 90 deg bends / 45 bends etc, postage is free and he is an aussie dealer from queensland. i just bought 2 x 90 degree bends of the blue 3 inch silicon which by the way has 3 inches on either side of bend not those short cuts you see , cost me $19.50 per piece the exact same bends at autobarn are $50 per piece. by the way its a good 5mm wall thickness and not soft. :silent:

yeh ebay is good for silicone joins and clamps etc.
one of the best ways to diy it up for cheap, there are all sorts of colours of silicone bends aswwl, red, green bluee, yellow.. i think i seen some purple aswell ;)

ppfffffffttt... lol saas.....

*puts on serious face*

if you are a cheapskate/ just testing it out and dont want to spend big bucks on a filter, then saas is fine
but i wouldnt keep it cos they are sheet at flow and not so good at filtration as k&n and apexi, tbh better to buy a good brand straight up

thanks Res, the saas pods are available at Autobarn so i did think they would be ok for the price . K&N and Apexi are no doubt the ultimate cleaners but you also pay for the name brand i feel. are there any other good quality pods that don,t cost an arm / leg so to speak ?

not really, most filters you pay for what your getting quality wise
i havent seen a good cheap filter from a different brand that has been proven to be equal with the good ones, but there is nothing wrong with a cheap pod, they will be fine
they just wont perform or filter quite aswell, it is a minimal difference short term, but builds up long term so maybe buy a cheapy now and after you sort out ur intake and can afford to go better buy apexi

also just cos a place sells something doesnt mean its good. always look for independant tests if your serious about quality

$120ish for k&n and $100ish for apexi
$20-$30 for saas, drift and calibre
