CE Wagon ?

for those who dont know, the wagon was an after thought from mitisibishi, it is a cc shape but is it was built in the years of ce it stands as a cc

It is already on 17x8s and I have a hard enough time getting into my garage haha.I dont think I could go much lower or wider.

Ahhh so its CC but was built in the time of a CE?? Does this mean the CC parts or CE parts will fit it.
Also it has a 4G93 SOHC and it has the intake on the drivers side and the belts on the passenger side (opposite to what alot of CEs here have I think).

you could chuck an old 4g63 in, they go pretty cheap nowa days
evo 1-3 and vr4 4g63's 'should' fit as far as i kno

u can put engines in that fit CC's it probably wont fit a CE engine as easy cos they are mounted the oposite way

yeah you have a CE Wagon which still uses the CC Front end.

your engine choices are evo 1-3 and vr4.. you can pick up a vr4 half cut pretty cheap and they have a stronger head than the evo 1-3 engines.

great base to start with a lot of potential.

or .. with a lot of work and fkn around you could do a CE front end conversion and go with an evo half cut :p lol.

tidy wagon.

I think the last several posts have been just repeating what we found out over several posts ago lol.

Should put an evo 1-3 front bar on it, that'd be pretty sweet... But I agree with before, mooarrr loowwwwwww :D

So I just got back from Pick & Pay Less in Blacktown

Picked up 2 front indicator corners so when I attempt to remove the orange casing inside them and destroy it, I have spares. $9 each.

I also peeled back the side door bumper strip thing on a lancer wagon there to find out if it had studs/clip/thingys that would leave holes in the door if removed (better wreck a car @ the wreckers than your own :)
Turns out there is none, its just stuck there with an adhesive.

When I removed the GLXI badging off the back hatch the adhesive had removed paint slightly in the perimeter of the badge, I'm guessing because its old and has seen all sorts of weather. Any ideas how to prevent this from possibly happening?? Hot air gun to soften the adhesive?? Not sure.

Anyways my first mini project will be the indicator lights, I'm going to try the "warm in oven" method seen around here a few times to open the casing and then remove as "smashing" from the inside then removing seems mighty primitive.

Brendan

dont do oven! just heat it up with the heatgun bro or you will either A. melt the cover or B. crack the case as 2 members i know of have done so far & fishing line behind the badge & just "cut" through the adhesive & then heat gun & put some prepwash on a rag & rub like crazy & then polish :D GL

How much was it to get into pick & payless at blacktown? or is it just free entry and pay for what you collect

as far as i know its free entry, just bring tools and a trolly, saves lugging all the crap around

i reckon we should have an lancer meet at the wreckers, that would be epic and be able to get useful input :p

haha yeah would be good ay, i might check it out tomorrow

It's a $2 coin to get in through the turn style thingo.
Then just pay for what you take up to the counter, I got the little springs for corner indicators and a bonnet rubber stop thing for free, it's brilliant for small clips, n fittings and stuff coz they give them away.

I'm keen for a wrecking day,

@ fivedollah, I'm going again tomz, I forgot to see how the interior dome light comes off and I need to get a new license plate light cover case thing. And I like scanning cheap stuff.

dome lights are piss easy, small flat head screw driver in the indent and lever the cover off which shows the screws and bulbs etc

walking aroudn the wreckers is great for finding good mods to do for cheap, esp. stuff liek rear disc brake conversions and getting spare interior trims
or if ur keen u can pick up another intake manifold for ur car from the wreckers and create a dual throttle body manifold or just bore it out bigger
or find a larger TB that fits ur car... lots of good stuff is found at the wreckers

keen for a mini meet there lol? since you cant make it on fri. would be pretty funny doing a last minute meet. wonder what they'll be for ch's there

So i found a pretty decent way of opening up the headlight covers without using the oven and for people who don't have a hot air gun, boiling the case in water!! It worked pretty good since it heats evenly and will not go over 100*C.

Ill post a thread when i take fotos.

I'm keen for the wreckers anytime, except this w.e :( I have to help my GF move house.

holy crap, i never even thought of that, cause that way you can controll the temp alot more easily, now all i need is a pot big enuf for a set of tail lights :p

yer, i could only fit half my light in it. also my flatmate got uber freaked out when she thought i was cooking plastic HAHAHA.
