oh i mean for real carbon fiber ive herd there is debates over what carbon fiber is the best one.

the best carbon isnt moulded, its woven in a loom, and "aparently" toyota/lexus are the only car company in the world to have a loom that can make car parts.

cant say whether they put it in resin or just left it woven.

yo res, carbon fibre is exatcly like fibre glass....just strands of carbon and kevlar *sometimes*

it is always woven, its is not neccacerily better/worse if its pressed into shape via suction etc, or if its formed like that.

and since its like fg, it will use a resin...

how can you tell if a bonnet is made out of carbon fiber. how will the police know its real insted of just a fake vinyl?

JUST SPOKE TO SA POLICE AND THEY SAID CARBON FIBER BONNETS ARE LEGAL ASLONG AS ITS STILL THE SAME STRUCTURE UNDERNEATH!!

im yelling because im excited and what i mean by underneith is that its a bonnet made for the car. not some random bonnet from like a mustang and then cut up to fit onto my car.

What they would mean by that is you have to use the stock base bonnet and have the top skinned as said. Doesn't mean that an aftermarket bonnet designed for your car is legal - same deal as fibreglass. Unfortunately it's won't come down to how you interpret the law, but the law as according to the police. And contrary to what many whingers will tell you about cops knowing nothing, they are trained in these things. Yes there are some assholes out there (by the sounds of the one that did Citta), but majority are great guys and know what they're talking about.
