Brake Upgrade

why not have the person get them redrilled tryg, then fool around with them?
only cost them an extra $100 and if the gamble pays off which i suspect it would then ur laughing

I was just going to grab a set and bring it out to someone's.... let me grab a set next wreckers trip..

unless you make your car faster ie turbo, whats wrong the the factory braks? they are obviously good enough for the car.

but but.... but..... cool looking brakes?

but nar, i had major brake fade on my old stockos, after a hard brake there was nothing in it if u needed to brake again quick
evo3's = no worries, always brakes hard 100 times over, and has alot better feel to the pedal, not to mention mass braking force without even touching the pedal

Unless you make your car faster, i.e. turbo, what's wrong with the factory suspension? It is obviously good enough for the car.

Right back at ya!

But brakes and suspension go hand in hand...

Better suspension means you can drive it harder than an average motorist would...

Upgrading brakes just ensures the paradigm of performance is maintained...

How often we see a car with kit and lowered, then bag it for having a weak engine.. I would rather do brakes before engine stuff, any day.

well, someone can be my guinea pig... I will grab some front 276mm next time down in Capalaba.. I just want to know.

I would suggest so.. all CJs, whether steel wheels or alloys are 16" minimum. You're right.

haha, I was hoping for someone more local, but thanks...

I might try measuring an older lancer at the wreckers too.. but ultimately, the best way would be to have access to a car...

276 should fit in a 15 inch wheel, evo/FTO ones do. Cj's may be different, you'd need the caliper mount dimensions, rotor centre diameter. Can take a corner off mine if you want to try it out.

Hey guys,
I do the front 256mm upgrade for a new low price of $290 and it comes with brand new RDA rotors and Lucas TRW pads (better than oem with better heat range).
I know for a fact that these setups cop some abuse.

If you are really on a budget I can package it with new quality RDA brake pads (oem replacement pad) for $255
This will brake better than the stock 235x18mm setup.

OR if you want to go to track pads and want that extra heat capacity. I do them with EBC Red.
You can email or PM for more info.

Ive also got a brand newly rebuilt set of EVO3 276mm twin piston setup in stock.
Calipers were bead blasted
Meticulously cleaned afterwards
Painted in quality brake caliper finish
Baked in oven for durabability
Reburbished pistons to rid of gunk and oxidisation
Brand new overhaul seal kit (made in japan)
They are in silver finish.
They will come with redrilled rotors
And custom rotor to hub hubcentric locating rings which no one else includes. THis makes the 69mm bore rotors hubcentric to the Mirage/Lancer 64mm hub.

These make any big wheels look sexy, and im guess they brake pretty good too!
