hi guys this is my first post, i own an 05 lancer which i love to death and im slowly upgrading it, at the moment i am stuck on wheels

i have 16x8 +20 XXR 521's that im desperately trying to fit to my car haha
i live in the nowra area if anyone knows any tire dealers that will do a slight stretch on tires etc

anyway the wheels stick out from the guards a little bit so thats problem no.1 and my mechanic thinks they will rub on the outside of the guard when turning
has anyone had any experience in this sort of area before im at an end trying to figure this out with americans hahaha

anyways pics of my ride will probably be up this weekend if i have a chance
cheers guys

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

Coilovers, camber & slam it. Roll guards to suit. Done

Welcome too

short sweet and straight to the point, lets be friends

what sort of coils to suit if you dont mind man like what fits our rides?

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

BC coils are most peoples choice on this forum, they seem to last a fair while and the quality is pretty good. Just source them for CH's or maybe even evo 7/8/9 (not sure if they will fit though).

mate you are awesome, thankyou so much that was muchly appreciated for posting me the links

this site is massively different from evoM where no one wants to help

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

Evo drivers seem to turn into massive tools mate, think nothing of it. We're quite a tight-knit community here at AusLancer.

Probs working overtime like a boss to pimp out his rage.

Or died in a chemical fire.

50/50.

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

lol he's alive, working hard as always

+20 shouldn't be too hard to fit, most tyre shops will stretch tyres without questions asked get 205's as you only need 195's if you were running +10's. with the coilovers and camber pretty much maxed out you should be able to fit them without any hassles. oh and you definitely need your guards rolled, maybe pumped a little in the rear. get that done first.
and welcome :)

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

you guys are legends thanks for all your help
its really appreciated

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

on a CH you should be able to fit +20's without camber arms
you might even get 205's to fit on the rims

def need coilovers, gaurds rolled and pumped for best fit

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

yeah you won't need camber arms, the coilovers will give you a bit more adjustability of camber over stock too. my rears are equivalent to a 16x8 +19 on a ce though, guards are rolled and pumped tyre has the same stretch as a 205 and i'm not even running coilovers yet. little bit of scrub on one side if i corner hard, thats it. and i have -2.3* camber at the rear, maxed out stock bolts

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

im gunna sound like a noob but i know what rolling guards is, but whats pumping them?

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

pumping them is like pushing them further out from the back, it naturally happens as you roll the guards but you keep going so the wheel arch gets pushed a bit further out. can't go too far though or you will create a dent in the body above it as the metal has to move from somewhere lol so it'll crease if you go too far. i'll try find a pic of how pumped my guards are, if not i'll take one tomorrow and post it

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

ahh okay so what its like a more aggresive method of rolling?

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

yeah basically you roll it first, not completely flat cause then i can rust out so leave a small gap water can still run down, and then instead of rolling it up you push it out instead. mine was done with a hammer and heat gun, not sure how effectively a guard roller can pump guards.

can't find a good picture so i'll try get one first thing in the morning

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

Ahh okay then so do you think anyone who can roll guards could pump them aswell?
Cheers man it would be appreciated/ would help to understand what you mean :)

Re: first post - 05 CH lancer About me/problems with fitment

by all means ask them first, they'll know what you're talking about. but they should be able to without any hassle. the littlest bit extra space you have under there will make the world of difference when fitting wide wheels haha. just make sure you don't go too far, mines as far as it should be pumped any further and it would have dented. you can see how the metals stretched by the reflection in the paint lol
