04 VRX Perfect fitment ?

the amount of bad information in this thread is appalling. i cant even be bothered correcting it all.

perfect fitment, no matter whether fat tyre fitment or stretched, required rolled guards. if you dont roll your guards then you cant call it fitment. end of story.

oh well mate, like i said im new and dont know much at all. even things you may consider obvious or general knowledge i probably dont know.
So i dont know why you waste your time to reply since you had nothing helpful to say.

Sorry if i have frustrated you with dumb questions or incorrect wording but we all had to learn at some stage by asking dumb questions

imo to be comfortable practical look for something around a 7-7.5" wide with an offset of around 42-35 should keep you out of trouble.. rolling the guards isnt really needed unless your going for poke

Thanks mate. What size do you have on yours?
Preferably I'd like to avoid any serious scrubbing I'm happy to roll my guards if it means I can get a better offset but again without any major scraping/ scrubbing

He wasnt talking to you i think haha. Man. Search for "JEFFAZ" his CH has pretty spot on specs. But i think anything thats 16-17x7 + 20 will work with rolled guards. might have to roll them flat against the gaurd but it will work :p

Also take into account tire size to.

right, may as well correct it so others wont read the wrong stuff and go off and get themselves into trouble...

offset is the distance from the mounting face of the wheel to the centre of the wheel.

its is measured in mililmetres.

a positive offset mean the mounting face is set more towards the front of the rim (ie: less dish)

a zero offset mean the mounting face is smack bang on the centre of the rim (a lot of dish)

a negative offset mean the mounting face in towards the back of the rim (ie: a shedload of dish)

rim with will also effect how the wheel will sit. obviously a 12"+30 will have a tonne more dish and less inner clearance then a 7"+30
eg:

if you want a good calcualtor, download this one: http://www.importjap.com/downloads

it also model tyre stretch. how do i know? cause i designed the formulas to do the calcualtions.

hth.

now as far as "perfect fitment" thats entirely up to you, your tastes and budget.

This was directed to djg90 as a rough guide, but as mentioned everyone has different opinions as to the perfect fitment.
mine are 8" +32.

Please excuse my ignorance. You've specified that you are not interested in coilovers, but do u plan to lower the car at a further date?

yeah sweet =) im not too sure if its stock height or not it is the vrx so i assume it would be a bit lower than the base models but the rear just tucks tire and the front has a gap but it sits level
Correct. VRX has the heavy duty sports struts or something like that, afaik. It sits a couple of inches lower than the standard CH.

At this stage It will stay at the current height but way down the track I may lower the front to match the rear as it tucks tire and the front has gap.

Cheers man. How much clearance do you have because I will be running a far less aggressive offset than you are ?

Cheers man good to know. I've been doing a STACK of reading and measuring to fully get my head around it all. =] would be so easier if all wheel and tire measurements were in metric mm not some mm some inches haha
