Don't really need illumination unless your worried about the HU being to bright at night.

lol i remeber that on mine

if you dont use that make sure you dont strip that wire, and if you already have tape it up!!!.

i blew 5 bucks worth of fuses because that wire was earthing against the car and kept blowing the fuse for one of my rear parkers and my dash lights

Okay so I don't know if this is because I was playing with wires yesterday, but ever since I did my car has been acting weird!
Everytime I brake or stop at traffic lights it starts revving really weird, and sounds like it's about to knonk out! :(

My car has been perfect and ever since I played with those wires it's been playing up.
:(

bet you wish you got it installed professionaly now don't you. check you clip on the MAF is on tight.

whats the MAF? lol :/

A family friend of mine is really really good with cars and electronics so I'm getting him to do my stereo tomorrow morning.
And I've got lube mobile coming to my work tomorrow aswell to give it a tune up and have a look if anythings wrong.

MAF is the air flow sensor on your air intake its half way along the pipe between your air filter and your throtle body (engine) it will have a few wire going into a clip. This is for a 4g93 tho... not sure if you have that or the 4g15

Yeah... I'm not familiar with the layout on the CE's which is why I sad between. :) On the 4b11 and 4b12's it's right in the output of the Air-box (in a factory setup).

you could also just wind up your idle revs so it revs at the normall 800rpm wont try to stall then

FYI 4g15's (1.5L engine) doesnt have a MAF sensor like the 4g93's do

so if you have 1.5L you dont have a maf sensor
if its 1.8L then you do and its on the air intake next to the filter box

In my CH I had someone install it for me. They never connected this. It pissed me off no end.

Okay well today a friend of the family put my stereo in, it all seemed perfect until tonight when i realized that everytime i start my car the clock goes to 1:00, the km trip counter goes back to 0, the interior light doesn't come on when I open my door - it only comes on when i turn the ignition on, and also the stereo doesn't remember any of the settings i've done on it.

Omg such a headache.
I've got a mechanic looking at my car tomorrow about the revs problem.
Any ideas on what this electrical thing is??!

cars all fixed now, got new spark plugs and all it was, was there were a few things that were loose that had to be tightened >_<

now to fix the electrical problem! argh

if you have a 4g15 motor i might have the answer to your idle problem.when i took the battery terminal off and reconnected it the car would do exactly what you described.just drive around for a while and it will fix itself.do about 50kms of driving or a 30 minute drive and it should go back to normal.

hopefully other members can confirm this

yeah i noticed that this morning, after the man looked at it the problem was still there after he said he fixed it, but then after a while it went back to normal. hmm hopefully it stays normal !
