Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

If you want some DRLs then get good ones and don't be sucked unto the cheap $30 ones you see online.
The cheap ones are barely visible over 10 meters which kinda defeats their purpose.
Philips are a good make, you can get some on eBay from the UK for less than $150.
I suggest placing them in the horizontal slats next to the driving light spot, unless you want to cut out just enough space for them in the driving light to mount them.

Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

You should pop those onto a computer power supply and see how they look.

Try to stick with newer generation LEDs as there is massive differences in brightness depending on their generation.

Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

I got them for free when I was stripping. A patrol and computer power supply why

Computer power supply is the cheapest and easiest way to power up 12V devices.

Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

Or a battery pack. Either hook them up to the parkers or to the ignition with a relay so you can turn them on/off.

Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

haha I use my guitar pedal power supply to test my 12v LED stuff.

Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

Yeah that's where the law sucks, factor ones don't have to turn off. I think it's because the factory ones built into the headlight work with the other beams.

And remember it varies depending on the state you live in, so you can set them up in QLD, then move to NSW and it's unroadworthy. They really need uniformed laws on this topic.

Re: Spotlights/daytime driving lights

If they're wired to the park circuit you could claim they are park lights. Thats how mine are
