Getting my exhaust done within the next two weeks, but I know hardly anything about what will be best for my car + which will sound best.
I don't car about price range, I'm happy to spend up to $300-350 !

I went to my local Carline today, to ask about this cannon I found on eBay - (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0636785776)
Bhe guy there recommended that I get a Lukey Muffler put on instead... :?:
What do you guys think? I want my Lancer loud and deep, but nothing that's going to attract the pigs!

I've also seen these other ones on eBay, have a look and let me know what you's think :)

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

lolz u want something that doesnt attract cops but is loud and deep... which are the characteristics that atract cops :p

they all look fine to me, its pretty much what finish u want, i wouldnt go the CF finish one unless ur going to put other cf bits on ur car, it just wont fit in
so that leaves 2 stainless, which will both sound like a fart

get a magnaflow oval twin tip muffler, stylish and sporty without having the douchebag quality of a cannon IMO

Hahah, that's true! And especially me being a P-plater, I'm sure it will attract them more.

How much you reckon a magnaflow would be?

cannons look and sound crap (my 2c)

a plain sports exhaust is the best system you could go and only bout $200 for a cat back

x2 dont just get a muffler, get a catback, will sound better and according to some ppl gives u some HP's, but each tot heir own

catback = exhaust redone from the catalyctic converter back in a larger diameter pipe, then put a magna flow on the end and it will sound mint

i paid 200 bucks cat back, w/stainless steel piping 2" in size, and a dumpy dip. ask john of what it sounds like

why pay $300-$350 for a crapy ebay cannon when you can get a better system for less

Heard good things about lukey, mines a redback and sounds pretty deep n mean.

Catback performance increase is minimal as far as i know....well i didnt notice a difference anyway

yeh, its a placebo effect, but some ppl think it gives actual gains, but no-one wants to waste their money doing a dyno before and after to test it :p

the best bet for your car, assuming it is a fairly stock 1.5/1.8L engine is to get a 2" pressbent catback with a lukey/magnaflow muffler
you can get mandrel bent (better flow than press bent) but you dont need it unless your a heckticly sick modifyer with $$$ to spend

and then after all thats done if you want performance from ur exhaust get extractors and a hi-flo cat... if you just want the sound go above^^

I just called a different exhaust place in my area and this guy was a bit more helpful than the other.
He said to get a cat back would be around $400? :/
And a sports muffler for around $200-$250..

hmmm

geez ripp off, unless you specified you want a magnaflow/lukey muffler coz they cost alot (~$300 mark for the muffler)

yeh they have a pretty good rep aswell, dunno about how much they cost tho, maybe someone else can confirm if thats a rippoff or if its fair price for a redback system

for the sort of system your talkin bout you dont need these name brands, just ask for a sports exhaust and shop around cause you should only be payin 200-250 for a cat back

I'll call a few more places tomorrow.
When asking for a cat back, what should I say I'm after exactly?
Do I need to say I want a muffler aswell or is that included..?
(Lol newbie to cars here!!)

Just go Lukey, can't go wrong they flow well and sound great.

DO get a catback with a lukey ultraflow, thats all ive ever used and they sound marvelous.

Don't get a noob cannon, unless you want your ride to sound like a giant fart coming up the road.

Yeah I think Lukey catback and muffler is the go!
How much you reckon that should cost, including the place to fit it?
