Lose ignition when throttle is 80%+

Alright so this is my first time posting here but I looked back through a lot of threads to see if I could find anyone with the same or similar enough problem, to no avail.

My Car & Problem:
I have a 2002 Lancer CE, 1.8L GLi (215k klm) that I bought about 7-8 months ago. Cleaned it up got it running really good except I had a problem, when I pressed the throttle to 80% or more the engine completely died (I did get it working, but it is now partially back). Here is a list of things I tested, fixed/replaced:

Servicing:
General service - Oil, Filter, break pads/rotors, manual trans oil
TPS Sensor - Seems to be working fine but replaced it just in case
Fuel Filter - Replaced
MAF Sensor - Seems to be working fine, gave it a clean with MAF Cleaner as well
Air Filter - Replaced
Spark Plugs - Replaced
Battery was dead so replaced that
Ignitions leads (2 that come off the coil packs) - Resistance was not great not terrible, replaced anyway

None of these fixed the problem, however I next replaced 1 on the coil packs (later replaced both) and the problem went away.
All is good for about 5 months when suddenly the problem comes back, however it is now affecting only 2 of the cylinders. I took out the sparkplugs inspected the packs and leads and I feel that it is cylinder 2 & 3 that are not firing when the throttle hits 80%.

Note the car ran/runs perfectly fine all the way into high revs as long as you keep the throttle below 80% or sometimes when you pulse the throttle really quickly into medium throttle it will cut out briefly.

I am really not to sure what is causing the problem, my best guess is an electrical fault or a very slight timing issue. Maybe the brand new coil packs could make up for the lack of timing or electrical fault but after some use they can't keep up any more?

Other Info:
The lead going from the coil pack on cylinder 2 to 3 was stuck onto the spark plug quiet hard for some reason and actually pulled through the casing/connection boot thing. Still seems to work fine however.

The very bottom of the coil pack on C2 looked a bit scuffed up, there was a tiny bit more oil and soot in C2&3 which is was leads me to believe these 2 cylinders are the ones note firing.

I switch the coil packs & sparkplugs around and am having the same problem so I don't think it is either of those.

I haven't done any testing of the ECU or running any scans, I might borrow my friends OBD2 scanner but I read that some of the lancers don't take OBD2 or something like that?

Conclusion:
If anyone has had the same or similar problem or has an idea I can test or something to replace please let me know.
Sorry for the longish thread I just wanted to put as much information as I could think of to increase my chances of someone being able to help.

Thanks in advance
