Hi guys, just wanna know.. does the 4B11 engine have the 4 Coil On Plug setup? talking about the non turbo ones..

yes, it has a coil-pack, per ignition lead, which are seated under the rear engine cover.

cool.. thanks guys..

now the 2nd question is.. does anyone know if what the outside diameter of the coil shaft is?

and the 3rd question.. does anyone know where I can get hold of 1? or even 6?

preferably brand new

from what I've gathered, 4B11 and the T models are the same.. so in theory the coils from the N/A model are capable of handling 400HP..

No idea on exact diameter sorry.

Try searching the web for a US Mitsubishi dealer that ships to Australia. Generally that is the cheapest way to get OEM parts....

Paul, what is he doing? Chris, what are you doing...!?

Happy to assist if you need me to pull apart my car!

i hav a feeling its a coil on plug setup for our VR4's...cause they hav a crap ignition system. 1 coilpack per 2 cylinders :/

ill let chris answer that. probably a yes, but dont go pulling your car apart until he replies lol

it's not really a big deal, 3-min job, but happy to wait until someone tells me all the dimensions required....

hey Tryg.. if you dont mind.. I'd appreciate it..

trying to exhaust all of my options..

so far I've looked at K20a/K24 densoi coils and they're not much smaller than the ones used on Toyota Echo/Yaris/Corolla/Avensis etc..

to help you with what you need to measure.. I need to know the length of the shaft.. and the outside diameter of it as well.. pics might would also help :)

and would anyone know if where I can get a set?

Wreckers. Mind you they will be scarce around the country and probably wont be much cheaper than just buying from an Australian dealer.

If you can work out the Mitsubishi part number, then there are various US Mitsu dealer sites that will ship parts to Aust. (ie. a MAF sensor from MMAL is ~$800 or around $200-250 shipped from the US...)

Will do this later this morning for you (it's 1:25am), with photos..

I have seen sets on eBay and Import Monster for around $240USD.

found out the 6A13's plug hole diameter.. it is 23.5mm

so Tryg.. please give me some good news and thanks, I appreciate you doing this for me..

sorry, just forgot to do it today... just ran out now to do it..

the stem (reach) is 120mm without compression of gasket,

the bolt to centre of stem offset is 30mm (for the hold-down bolt)

and the width of the plug hole seems to be 23.5mm

That's just brilliant...

that'll definately fit in 6A13TT's :D

few more questions though..

1. do you know the pin-out of the coils? I would assume it is + then ECU trigger then -
2. also how much power can these coils provide?

Just buy the EVO X coils from Import Monster.. about $240 for a used set, plus delivery. Then you can get no better, for a Lancer.
