any one running with these? what do they cost? hard to fit?

autobarn just told me $600, stuff that. where did you see them for that sam? not ebay crap?

Well firstly without ADR approval they aren't legal and one of the conditions of ADR approval I believe is they must be factory fitted, making it impossible to find legal aftermarket stuff. That being said if you are going to fit them anyway you should either fit projector lenses because the reflector lenses that most cars fitted with halogens as standard can't properly control the light output of a HID globe and create that blueish glare which blinds oncoming drivers.

4300K is what most vehicle manufacturers fit as OEM to new cars comes that come with HIDs and this is about the optimum light colour for visibility at night. Anything over this and the effectiveness of them is decreased and as a rule of thumb you shouldn't really go over 6000K if you still want a decent light range...

They are easy enough to fit but the price will vary anywhere from under $100 for Hong Kong cheapies to $500+ for Philips!!

i think he got jack of MLGA aswell cause he isnt a sponser anymore, will shoot him a pm. cheers boys

Yeah thats right ryan... Good Information.

Yeah he got sick of Marc, JB and Lee. They all stick together.

Luie did conversion on a lancer and the guy took the car to the 1.4 and ran like a late 16 pass.
They then crack it into luie saying he did a bad job and *poo*.. when the guy has never been on the 1.4 before and didnt know what he was doing.

The car should of ran low 14's.

i remember that, all good info, would i just be better gettin good globes?

4000K Narva Artic Blues or Philips Bluevisions are the whitest halogen lights with ADR approval and are around the $70 mark for a pair.

Phillips crystal visions bulbs are 4300K and have more of a 'HID look' to them but they aren't ADR approved, but even still they aren't anywhere near as glarey to oncoming drivers as HIDs. These retail for about $100 though you can pick them up on eBay cheaper.

If you do alot of country driving I wouldn't get HIDs but if you're city driving mainly its upto you, just keep in mind you are risking a defect/fine by having them on...

i have the bluevision one atm but they seem to fade over time. i do alot of night driving as i start work in the middle of the night so would it be best to keep swaping them out?

id get hids globes look *poo* and ive never hurd of anyone getting a defect from them and ive bin defected and roadyed with them in n it was fine but i no there ilegal get hi and lo.

Guess it just depends how upset the copper is and also how smart they are

I got a fine for having a pod rater than a defect notice :? He was just pissed because in his opinion I was speeding and overtaking illegally and he knew he couldn't get me on it because his claims were BS so he went over my car.

Yeah all halogens and even HIDs will decrease in brightness over time, it's like an exponential sort of graph if you look at lifetime vs. light intesity (as in the older they get the more rapidly the light output tends to drop away)

think i will try to stay as legal as i can, dont want things to stick out like dogs balls that i can get done for. one less thing to have to change if you ever get defected

I got the 8000k HID's off Luie.. I love them, so much brighter than stock (anything would be I imagine!), but I've not been pulled over and defected for them yet and I've had them on for a good 6 months or so... they cost me $180 or around that.
