Help with boot fake floor

you could do your boot lik this. :)
got a hinge on the sub box with a flip up lid.
and you can get to the amp easy.;)

I think its that hinge that's spoken about. Would be good to get a photo-demo!

what thickness MDF do people recommend for this false floor idea?
cause its got me thinking
i was thinking 10mm-12mm would that suffice?

go to bunings, i got some 140x50x2 for $20. they have all diff sizes and shapes

depends on what you intend carrying in the back... unsupported, MDF is very weak, compared to ply.. so the thicker the better. I would use 20mm if possible. Just my 2c.

holy crap, 20mm, thats thick as lol
i was only planning on using 10-12mm
any particular reason for 20mm thickness?

look at the floor i did in my boot. trap door for the wheel and stuff. took 2 hours to do. :) mdf, some plastic checker plate sh1t and some screws n piano hinges. BAM!

if its one large piece for the mdf flooring, will that fit in the boot or would i have to do sections?

cause it seems awfully large

cbf reading it all, but notise mdf, sikaflex, wheel access hole. do all those and youll be pretty happy not too much work in it either. just go look at some wrekers for mr rear seats, tho not to many in the wrekers

started re-doing my b oot today, managed to get a piece of hinge to have access to the spare wheel, but no luck getting it out.... back with the jogsaw tomorrow to cut some space out to let the tyre out
