Help with boot fake floor

Hey

Need a bit of help here.
i need to make a fake floor in the boot or somthing because the alloy i have in there
is too big and makes the boot floor sit uneven with like a hump in it (from the wheel)
Just want to know the best way/materials to make a floor thing so it will sit higher
above the wheel and be flat rather than a bump.

Cheers :)

dunno, i suppose some thin ply wood, then just put 4 small blocks under it in the corner type areas
blocks will hold the ply above the wheel and should sit okay, maybe put a thin bit of rubber under each block to stop it sliding or maybe even a thing magnetic strip so they stick

dunno, just some ideas that might work for u

Cheers, nah thanks i need all the help/ideas i can get. im not too good at all this stuff. but i guess only way to learn is to do lol

I would use MDF, its cheaper and you can get it quite thick for the same price as ply.. then use the advice mentioned earlier.. raise it up at strategic locations around the corners of the boot, plus any areas close to the wheel with blocks. Glue and screw those to the MDF board in those spots. They should come out with your raised floor. Cover with some marine carpet or paint.

Good luck.

Do this!! and you should be laughing. :D

Just adding to this... I would suggest sikaflexing the blocks of wood to the body. Then screw your board onto the blocks. This would stop the vibrations and bumping sounds every time you hit a bump on the road.

If you're extra adventurous, make a door, put it on hinges and bolt on some gas struts and you have a trap door to use to take the spare out, or to hide your nos bottle... Ooops, have i given away too much?

Yup as SyKRyD and tryg said is some good advice. If you dont wanna Sikaflex down the wooden blocks, just get some rubber from Clark Rubber and contact glue it onto the bottom of the wooden blocks.

Also I believe the best way is to find a big cardboard box and use it to make a template for how you want to cut out the MDF.

or if u still have the origonal boot carpet u can use that as a guide

Sweet as. Next pay day going to get some MDF and some sikaflex stuff and going to attempt to make a trap door lol. next fortnight ill get some photos up if i get the time to actually do the boot floor. cheers everyone!

Also, Another question.
How do i get the rear seats out or sumthin. would be good if it were like the MR's and just fold down but it doesnt lol.
i need to get them to fold down or somethhing so i can get to the back of where the amp is attached

should do something like this, its simple, yet really nice, its what im gonna do with mine, cept that whole gas strut idea sounds really cool, i was prolly gonna use some furniture removal carpet under the mdf to stop the rattles and stuff, its relatively cheap and should do the job nicely

and then mount your amp on the side

looks pretty effective i like it aye. im just gunna have to buy a bunch of stuff and play around and see what i come up with. but that does look tidy as aye.

ok, looks like you need help with that seat! haha

take out the bottom half of the seat, you will find a clip either side of the bottom of the seat, pull them and the seat will "pop"

lift it up and pull it out of your car :)

you will then find two bolts on the bottom of the "top half" of the seat, undo them then slide the seat verticaly

and hey presto, your rear seat is out :)

you could do your boot lik this. :)
got a hinge on the sub box with a flip up lid.
and you can get to the amp easy.;)

SWEET, that sounds simple. cheer man.
Gunna have a muck around with it tomorrow or even later tonight if i get bored. :p

thats what my new one will look like i hope, put a lil more effort into it this time
