Hi All,

I've already made a thread asking for help, so I figure it would be only fair to introduce myself properly. My name is Kurt, but on my socials I am "steeaboo".

I've recently (like 2 months ago now lol) picked up a Mar 02 build CG VRX. 4G94/5MT combo. I was specifically chasing a CG after seeing this gen get a workover in an old Super Street magazine in 2001, Modern Image SEMA car. Reminds me of NFSU and other parts of my younger years, since I've always been a bit of a ricer. so "base" Lancer it was, since Evos aren't in my budget, especially post-covid. Speaking of Covid, I managed to get the car for a cool $2000 which may seem steep, but I've yet to see another manual CG VRX under $5k so I think I did alright. Enough babbling, I'll post the pics.

She needs some cosmetic work I admit! hood and grille are pretty much rooted, and the top edge of my guards are faded (almost through the paint!) after 20 years in the albury sun. But it runs beautifully, and I've been kicking myself for not getting into a Lancer earlier. This car is hilarious fun to drive and got 800km to the tank on the highway.

I do have some plans for it though, which is where I may make some enemies here. As I alluded to in my NFSU reference above, I do plan to mimic that early 2000s culture. I've already been hunting for the Kenstyle bodykit which I almost found in Japan, but it was damaged extensively and listed for $900USD. Passed that up. Also plan on red underglow, low, wheels, engine work, etc. More or less creating a silver silhouette of this but with my own flare:

So to summarise, I'm Kurt, and I like dumping entirely too much money into cheap cars, and this is my first foray into ownership of Mitsubishis, hope to see you all around!

Hey mate, welcome and happy money spending!

CG’s are great and VRX means you got the cream of the crop. If you haven’t already, I’d start chasing down Cedia parts for it, the grills are much nicer and bolt right in.

Body work/body kits are expensive and when you add in paint or wrap it really starts to hurt. So be warned!

You will probably find a fair bit of evo7 gear will fit the CG, from memory tail lights are a close fit or maybe it’s the boot…

Anyway, keep us posted and ask away those questions. You’ll find yourself answering as many as you ask in no time.

Cheers mate! Yeah I've gotten clued in on the Cedia thing pretty quick, that stuff gets expensive fast especially with international shipping as bad as it is right now!

I've also been eyeing up the evo-styled cedia ralliart(?) headlights but again, shipping lol

You're 100% right about bodykits and paint, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't at least a little bit intimidating hahaha.
