Buying Lancer (Advice Please)

Original MR green is my pick should get that easy for $4500 if not 4k. Get a rev's check spotted a towies truck in the back I dont trust them.

1.5 is great for highway if no overtaking having had both a few times 1.8 is the pick no doubt about it. MR is the top of the range back in that era.

Electric windows, black interior, sports lip kit and cupholders for the win! also has a split rear seat 60/40 which is handy pending what you my buy in the future or surf.

this ^^^

and last one is def's not an MR

defs go a 1.8 man, everyone who gets a 1.5 wishes they had a 1.8, including me. its just a wiser option if your thinking of spending money performance wise down the track, The only advantages of the 1.5 id say are they are pretty much invincible, i thrash the *poo* out of mine, its got 280 k on the clock, and it wont die, and doesnt show any signs of dying either, all i do is change the oil every 5000 k's, and its fantastic on petrol, i got 500k's to 40 litres the other day, and i never drive my car easy. although in saying that, if youve got the money to spend, theres the turbo route wich everyone aims at, the 1.5 can have some go. but if you spend the same money on the 1.8 its always gona be ontop.

+ MR kit is sexy with low.
+black dash is sexy
+plus elec mirrors and windows.

MR= easy win man.

at the end of it it's up to you.
our recommendations are MR 1.8l.
but since you are expecting it do a fair amount of k's if you can get one with low k's seems an appropriate choice.

by the sounds of it i am going for the 99 MR lol but how cheap can you get some *woo-hoo* apeall on the outside but not to much money seeing i will only have like a little bit to spend if i could get it to look like the green 99 GLi i would be happy i really like the look of that one

just got a phone call back i am test drive the 1.5l tomorow to see if it does have enough punch for me what extras do the come with. the 1.5l GLi that is.

and how much punch would the lighter pulley, CAI and maybe exhaust give

Rims and tyres = $500 2nd hand to $2k for brand newies.

Keep the kit the same.

Low, depending if you do it yourself = anywhere from price of spings to ~1k for coilovers so maybe 1.5k would be the limit

stereo (awesome *woo-hoo* appeal, easy to do yourself) say $200 for a decent HU, $400 for speakers and $300 for sub and amp

thats the basics

so i will see tomorow if the 1.5l GLi will have enough and i will get back to you guys tomorow.

i am really excited about getting my first lancer and joining the crew

If you are buying a lancer buy a 1.8 even if it isnt an MR.

If you want a Mirage then you have no choice. But then with a Mirage you can find the cheapest one around thats straight and have a 1.8 or 2L project if you want to go fast.
