Buying Lancer (Advice Please)

i test drove the 1.5l and actually had more balls then i was expecting probs with a fewer minor mods would give me enough power for what i want to do.

that is not to say tho that i dont want more power (please we all want more power, it is a male thing) :)

i am going to test drive a mates 1.8 tomorow and see how she goes.

no one knows of a 1.8 CE, MR for sale with under 200k klms and around the south east queensland area? the year doesnt matter as long as klms are not to high?

Offtopic but how was your red 202? Are they gutsy at all or just weak by todays standards? I've been looking for a project for myself and looking at old kingswoods. Not going to be a daily so fuel isn't of a big concern :).

if i had another car to drive daily i would of loved to keep my old girl :(

and they were alright with a but of work you can make them to be really good mine was slightly worked lol.

but not worked they only have about 73kw at best stock. but normally less because most are old and untouched.

seriously worked really good like being a P plater i can only have 200 kw and i worked mine up against dynos constantly to get as much power out but still able to drive it. had approximayely 187kw was fun :) smoking new V8's and stuff at lights :)

but that work does take quite a bit of money.

so in finally they are still alright just plain and stock but when driving the 1.5l GLi lancer the other day because it was so light. the lancer revved quicker and felt snappier. hope i helped a little if you want any more advice just let me know

Buy an MR and you wont be disappointing with the 1.8L.

I have been able to directly compare the 1.5 to the 1.8, as I have an MR and my Mrs drives a GLi. There is a significant difference, not just the extra .3 capacity, but all the little extra things about the car add up. If you think about it, the GLi's are meant to be one step up from the base model with a few extra features, compared that to the MR which is specifically the 'sports' model of the range.

MR gets black interior which is 100% better than grey, power windows, bigger engine, body kit, fog lights, enkie mags, spoiler, chrome scuff plates, just to name a few things. In my car searching I found that MR models tend to be fitted with more options, as people are willing to spend more money with the sports model. I scored an extra 6stacker in the boot. Would be great to find one with a sunroof!!

mr all the way, otherwise regret u will have
i know i regret not getting an mr, 1.5s are not that great once u have been in a 1.8

okay i am convinced into getting an MR :)

Cheers for the info, I'd been ruling the 6cyls out but may give them a look in if something nice pops up. Always good to get a real opinion on them.
